There are several threads at BCUSA at the moment more or less on this theme but as this d-bag was talking incoherent smack about Beckers a while back, he was on my radar. Anyway, forewarned is forearmed and all that so if I were you, I'd be careful about doing business with this guy...

Ok, after getting the scoop on the whole ordeal, I'm opening this back up because this is stuff that everyone will need to know.

Stay clear of cross forum linking, and stick to the topic of Mike Taylor, and we are good to go.

Here's the deal, this guy is a thief and has been outted. He faked his own death (forum wise that is) to get out of some of the shady stuff he has done.

some of this information, name, bio, nicknames, aliases, could also be posted to the good/bad sales threads. nobody likes a thief. even an undead one.
 
Nothing, he offers free stuff, or contests, you send him money or info, and he ghosts out, with a fake post about him dying. He stole some guys Rauna that way, and it would seem that there is more to it than that. He's been found out by at least 5 different knife/gun/outdoor forums I have on my list, and a few that I don't.

I mixed it up with this guy a few months ago, and he didn't like it very well, wound up closing the thread before me and Biscuit could rip his sack off. Smart guy.

It would seem that there is a whole lot more to the story, I'm busy at work, and only am popping in to see a post and make one.

From what I read he bought some antlers, claimed they never arrived, the guy sent him a new set, and then later he posted pictures of both sets while training a dog.

There were links to other forums he had been banned for asshattery. stealing knives and money. Being a scam artist.
 
Had a feeling that guy was full of BS. Some of his posts just put a bad feeling in my stomach.
 
Just goes to show ya you gotta deal with respected peeps. Im kinda skeptical about that cinci bk2 im hoping to get. A deal too good to be true, and ill be a nervous wreck until it shows up (if I get it)
 
Keep the faith brother Clich. For every dirtbag on the forums there are a ton of great people as well.
 
there have been perps on other forums that have had personal, door to door meet and greets by people in the area, asking for the stolen stuff back on behalf of the owners... in particular, i'm thinking of a unique $$$ sword that this guy just ordered, paid for with a bogus credit card, and then said "tough, i'm 1000s of miles away, you can't touch me". knock knock. guess what?

in the cases where the police won't do anything unless the complaint is made locally, well, that happens too.
 
I am over on BCUSA as well as GK and have read through the threads.

This jerk off is the one who said Beckers were crap becuase they can't be sharpened, also talked about how he broke a mora with light batoning.

From Cleveland, he claims to be a disbaled vet who makes and sells hiking sticks and owns a gun store with his brother.

The Complaints are: he received several things from BCUSA members including some gear and knives and never paid. He has also done this on other forums including receiving guns and never paying. Also has taken money for items and never sent them.

Thats the short and sweet of it.
 
Good to see this guy getting outed for the POS he is. I put a thread over in GBAU about the whole thing. What a shitty thing to do to folks who were genuinely upset and struck when they thought he had died. There has to be a special place in hell for folks like this!

Apparently he's been involved in perpetrating a number of scams on a number of different forums, the most recent of which I am aware involved him scamming a knife off of a member in another forum. He is reported to have faked his death at least twice on two different forums as well.

In addition to offering 'free stuff' he does also sell stuff - or pretends to. He posed as a gun dealer and had a Ruger MK2 (think - maybe it was a MK1) for sale just recently for a very decent price. I was actually tempted by that one - glad I'm also a cheap bastage.

Other forums on which he has been known to prey tend to have an outdoors / weapons / cool stuff theme. BladeForums would seem to be well within his MO.

Stay sharp and be careful who you deal with.

Don't recall that but he did have a big thread on BCUSA about what crap Beckers are because "they don't sharpen" and because "they need to be modified before being usable". He had some crazy claim about a Becker he had and I asked (about 57 times - heh) for pics. That's the thread he closed after Moose et al also showed up and started giving him what for.

It would seem that BKT's are one of the blades he is willing to "use", so, shit on this guy.

This fellow has scammed on forums about Airguns, BCUSA and others. He stole a knife from one BCUSA member. Stay clear of him, he's a known conman and will steal from you if given the chance.
