Reminds me of a story...
Back in late 1987 or so I had transferred to Customs from my old outfit and had to go to their service academy in Marana, AZ, northwest of Tucson.
(It was on a base owned by the Bureau of Indian Affairs...and their tribal police would train there as well. The CIA had an operation on the other side of the flight line.)
When we got there we were briefed that if we heard any loud thumps on the roof of our barracks, we should not go out and confront anyone, as they would be friendlies.
The SEALs would use the base and surrounding area for HALO jumps and occasionally land on the roof. It was pretty comical. (Except for the one poor SOB that I saw have a streamer...that didn't work out too well. Marcinko talks about it in one of his books. That was a sad day.)
Fun times in the desert.
And as I was reading I kept thinking. That it was going to be Santa and his reindeer on the roof kinda joke


That had to be a tough day :-( :-(
