"A 'shit ton' is the proper mathematical / scientific term. I'm Avogadro, and I approved this message."
But in the UK, it would be "a metric shit ton". 😋

Well, if she's anything like my wife she'll be asleep within 20 miles and you can pick the radio station😂
Nope. I drove 5 hours, she's going to drive the next five. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. I also don't understand how professional truck drivers can do this for 11 hours at a shot. Does not compute.

My wife doesn't drive, (real NYC girl), so whenever we go north to visit family in NY, I drive straight through 700 miles, stopping only for gas and food. (Or food and gas.)

I'm less enthusiastic about it these days for a variety of reasons.

Safe travels.

Damn boss, I thought you had the parts being shipped in? Did they not work out and now you gotta make this run or was this always the plan?

They are attached to a truck. Salvage title running junk but it has the parts I need. I'm going to attempt to drive it 750 miles home. Lol.

I have about 2 hours total combined winter weather driving experience. Although I've picked up some today. In a nice modern Subaru outback with good tires and electronic stability control. I'm a little bit concerned about driving back in a clapped-out F450 with questionable tires and brakes. Derp.

I need more than the drive shaft parking brake. That weird brake is unobtainium, but I need a transmission too because the brake damaged mine. And it will be good to have some other spare parts.

The truck was involved in an accident and it is rusted out so it's not useful for things that people would use and f450 for. But it is relatively low mileage so I'm hoping some of the spares are good. If nothing else the seat is in better shape than mine. Hopefully the steering box is still tight etc.

Hey man, wish you’d have said something. I’ve got free time at the moment and don’t mind road trips as I hate flying. We could have trailered that bitch up and carted it home. If you have any reason to not drive that rig home for safety reasons or if you just don’t think you’ll make it, leave it where it sits and I/we can go get it. Seriously, don’t take a chance and put yourself and Jo in a bad position if you aren’t sure.

Where is it by the way?

Ok this is sounding more and more like something I would do !!! Lol.
Jumper box - check
Spare fluids - check
Portable air compressor - check
Fix a flat cans - check
Heavy tape and wire - check
Road flares - check
AAA - check lol

Brakes are the only thing can’t play with, you just have to have them. The vehicle can shake sputter clank and stall, but it has to stop.

I drove a rotted out POS 1973 trans am home from Canada border way back when. Had to coast it down most of those big hills lol. At the bottom try and restart it lol.

But having a total parts car is better than buying just pieces 👍

Here’s to hoping all goes well !! 🤞
Safe travels 👍
