I just got Cayeanne pepper in my eye.

If you cant do an experiment to prove something yourself, are you just taking someone's word?

Anyhow... Cayeanne pepper. HOT STUFF.

Karate was fun tonight. We did ground transitions and arm bars. O fuck am I sore.

I wish I could still practice Karate. ☹️

I was using my Carolina Reaper Squeezin's one night and forgot to wash my hands. I ran to the bathroom in a hurry throwing water on my face. That stuff is hotter than hell!

I was told cold milk on a cotton ball.

I had neither. just had to wait it out.

why cant you practice karate?

I googled it. Sounds alot like American Karate.
Nope Google more

Hapkido is a mix of offense and defense combined with an insane amount of joint locks that force your body into a direction of either breakage or a counter into your forced movement

It's even been said hapkido has and edge on Krav maga because of the mix of offense and defense

I did karate for a little while when I was a kid. Just remember running around and around the gym. Not nearly as cool as I thought it would be. Probably stopped buying ninja magazines around the time lol

Well, when two or more spar, someone has to be offensive or you'll all look dumb just standing there. lol

Agreed lol

Hapkido is a few styles mixed together and there is a more modern form called combat hapkido (there are 0 instructors near me lol)

Being half korean taekwando was always something I would hear about (both my kids were in taekwando) .. but I remember hearing and my mom being friends with a hapkedo instructor when I was really young , I remember him telling me " taekwando is if you want to kick some body , hapkido is of you never want a problem with that person again"

But on the other hand I think any and all martial arts are amazing , hopefully as a bucket list thing I hope to be proficient in 1 lol

I can go on about my crazy family mixture (my uncle was a top Karate instructor in Cali) but that's a crazy story for another day

Yep, them knowing that they will get something broken is a good deterrent. I guess American Karate is like MMA. There's some of everything with a focus more on hand techniques and defenses against weapon attacks.

Disabled. I have degenerative disk disease in my lower and middle back.
sorry to hear sir. 🤝
Are you in Ju Jitsu? I was in American Karate Center. We specialized in hand techniques and grappling and stuff.
Bushido Kai is the name I believe. We did ground transitions from bottom guard trapping the limbs on one side and rolling through to turtle then passing guard to work for an Americana.

pretty basic stuff. I'm a 3rd week white belt. 🤗😁😄

I’m not an expert in either but have done both. I would be hesitant to say Hapkido “has an edge” without the citing the environment as the critical component. I REALLY liked Hapkito when in a safe context where I was trying to defuse a situation… but any time I’ve tried a body lock wearing kit it is MUCH more energy demanding than it should be. Krav Maga literally has you train in what you think you’ll fight in and they plan on it being in body armor while you’re accounting for your weapons and it accounts for the limited range of motion and energy consumption.

If I had nothing but time I would love to practice both… and maybe add Jujitsu just because it’s a blast.
