Random Thought Thread

Not really a random thought, but a random quote overheard from an airport employee to an old lady in a pushcart…

“Ma’am, it’s a long walk, do you mind if I run?”

Now this may not seem too funny but the guy’s pant legs were torn at the bottom and his shoes were both comin untied so while they may not make it going slow, if they speed up there could be some missing teeth after a trip and fall.

108f in North Texas and I'm staying indoors.

108? Wow!

I remember riding a motorcycle east of Tuscon on I-10 when it was about 110. Wore an Aerostitch ripstop nylon riding suit that I soaked in water to stay cool but it was still too hot. Had to pull into a McD to get out of the heat.

That said, I just took a relatively flat 3 mile "hike" (really just a walk) around a reservoir yesterday. My car said it was 80 when I started but 92 just an hr later. Only realized that the shirt I was wearing as a sunshield was soaked, after I grabbed a stool at a watering hole for a beer/sandwich nearby.

"Our family name was "Leonardo" until some disgraziata messed it up at Ellis Island. Carrying someone's jockstrap? Fuhgeddaboudit!"

I can't quite place which episode of the Sopranos it was, but when there was a turf war of sorts going on between Tony and Leotardo, before Phil Leotardo got popped, he was pissed (in the dialogue) that Tony had been mentioning Phil's resemblance to the late Shah of Iran. That really cracked me up. Man, I really miss the Sopranos and the dialogue that they use to come up with. One of the best shows ever, maybe top 3-5 of all time!

Holy fart it was hot and humid today , on top of that had to run the heat in my paint booth to get the basecoat to flash

By clear coat time I have towels wrapped around my head and I'm bobbing and weaving while clearing to prevent the sweat from my respirator, head and the cuffs of my paint suit from landing in my job

It's pretty gross lol

Just put this in the truck. I’m honestly kind of scared to put it on the hottest tune. On the “Sport” tune it runs 36 lbs of boost and absolutely RIPS in 4th and 5th gear. I’m glad I paid extra for transmission tuning too. It absolutely pulls harder then shit, hahahahaha I love it. I feel like a teenager!

It's a dry heat in a lot of places around more desert areas that have low humidity. It feels even hotter when you add high humidity. But our humidity isn't usually as bad as down around Houston, Baytown, and areas similar to that. But it gets pretty high here sometimes.

Tuning is definitely an experience. It’s amazing how much performance the mfg. leaves on the table.
You‘re right…boost is the Fountain of Youth!
