Random Thought Thread

I live alone in a 5 bdrm house and I hate house cleaning but recently got the energy to start doing some long delayed cleaning projects.

One of those projects was to clean the carpet along a walkway (which is a straight shot) from the garage to kitchen which was finally starting to bother me. So, I pulled out the Bissell Carpet Cleaner that I bought years ago at Costco and used only ONCE before to handle the project.

Of course, the Bissell would not work right. Googled the problem and tried some of the suggested tips to no avail. Wasted about 2 hours on that, then looked for a repair shop that might be able to fix it. No factory service centers closer than 1500 miles from me and the only vacuum cleaner repair shop near me said that he's not doing carpet cleaners any more.

So, I Googled "carpet cleaners" at Lowes/HD to see what they cost now, which is in the $200-350 range (for a comparable one). I was "shocked!" Don't think I paid for than $150 for the one that's broken. Of course, I wouldn't hesitate to drop that much $ on a new knife to add to my collection but a "carpet cleaner"?"

I'm STILL thinking about it. LOL!!! ;)

It's Friday!

I'll be ordering up beer(s) when my buddy arrives at about 1330 hours. (Fortunately, he can walk home from here if he's in no condition to drive later. Only two properties over. 🤣)
Hope your night went well, I met up with some friends from work last night at the sandwich/ beer heaven !

Welp me and one up the guys had a beer sampling at my house after lol

I have a Bissell spot cleaner...Little green machine. It stopped pumping water, so I looked up parts for it and found the pump. $9.99 plus tax later it came from some store 4 states away with free shipping! 2 dozen screws later its fixed and just got done with front seats of the car. The pump is held it with 2 squirts of hot glue...from the factory!! bad seal from pump to the tiny little motor in it.
Anyways, saved me $159 so enquiring minds can get er done if ya get bored.... you tube is your friend some times..

In a hurry to get it done.

Tried some quick fixes mentioned online w/no luck. Will try some repair shops a bit father away from me to see if they are willing to try to fix it. Also have the option to rent a carpet cleaner (about $30/day) or just hire a carpet cleaner (but that won't save much if any $).

Most likely, I'll just buy a new one (saw one today at Lowe's for $170 that'll work) and, if the old one can't be fixed, just junk it.
