I wouldn't be posting sales threads in the main section because you'd never know who might put some bad juju on the Evil Genius!

I'm just kidding men!!! I just happen to be faster when sale threads are in the CPK sub so I'm trying to get 'em back in here in the future :D
 
This is one of the silliest things I've seen on here ... so in your world the same people should always get the knives offered? ... and newer members have little to no chance of ever scoring a knife.

Seems like a fast way to kill a company be basically shutting out new people interested in buying a Carothers ... if that were the case it would turn off any new interest real quickly seeing that they would be considered last.

It may have been a joke but I recommended Carothers to some people and had two contact me after reading it and said I might be right that they are great knives ... but with that they had no chance so they would try a custom maker because they felt they had no chance to ever get one.

Ironically, it would seem my sarcasm went undetected. I apologize.

Are you are trying to tell me 2 people read the post I made about a theoretical knife distribution system on the day of an actual sale that had absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote and now don’t feel like they will ever get a CPK because of my post, and that they only watched one sale completely unrelated to my post, and completely missed the sticky pre-order thread, and that massive thread Casinostocks made about how to get a CPK?

Anyone know the math on the number of knives to pre-order vs Friday sale off the top of their head? 6:1 on the HDFK?!
 
Not trying to cause any arguement or issue at all ... I'm only saying I have recommended Carothers knives to some people who asked me for suggestions ... and told them how the Friday sales work and that it's hard to get in on small batches but there are sometimes pre orders also ...

I wasn't home to try or even watch todays sale as I've been traveling back and forth to my parents alot recently ... but at least a few people attempted the sale or didn't get in on as it filled up quickly as they always do ...

and evidentally they were reading posts in the subforum and saw your post and felt alienated ... and I got a couple texts telling me they saw no way they'd ever get a knife from reading that ... I will talk to them and tell them it was meant as a joke ... and I still believe the knives are worth trying to get in on ...

My only point was reading it as posted I could understand how someone new could feel alienated by it.

Hopefully they don't give up because I think the knives are some of the best offerings currently available.

JJ, all joking aside Justinis one of the good guys on here and has been one of the pillars of this subform ever since its very inception. The flippers who show up on every Friday and are successful are far more cause for concern to this almost ubiquitously benevolent community than someone who is one of the OGs making a sarcastic tongue-in-cheek joke.

If my buddies were interested, I would encourage them to wait for preorders for a few simple factors:

- CPKs by and large are (much) better than some "customs" at a more advantageous pricing point

- I have participated and also followed all the preorders and these folks (Nathan / Jo / Mark and Lorien) do not mock about! I have seen all preorders fulfilled within 6 months or shorter and even this HDFK which has taken over 7 months, can be attributed to Nathan graciously extending the preorder window and also accepting demand for more units after the facts in addition to getting ready for Blade 2017 which was right around the corner, growing pains, equipment breakdown. Not excuses by any means just to demonstrate dedication even in the middle of manufacturing storms! There is no cop out with these people. They are just great and caring folks who deserve to taste the fruits of their labor :thumbsup:
 
I agree with you Casino ... and that's why I highly recommended Nathan's knives to them ... they are somewhat new and don't know people and typing doesn't always convey intent.

And I still think they would love the knives and hope they will give it another try ... I think they just got discouraged reading that post and not having read alot of other threads before hand.

And I myself have gotten in the pre orders looking forward to a couple of the EDCs from the last one. I agree Nathan's knives are a great value and I hope I can convince them to hold out and they will get a chance.
 
I think it's great to get more people exposed to these knives.

Until the Utility Fighters get released again. If and when that happens everyone who gets in line ahead of me will be cursed. I'm going to descend to my dirt basement butt naked, slather myself in butter flavored Crisco, and do the traditional 'now you got the face herpes' dance.
 
I don’t even know what you guys are talking about, pac 12 sec sounds like some Illuminati numerology Easter eggs or whatever they are called. You guys Templar Knights or Sumthin’?

There is one thing I can say for sure.
