"I don’t get it. Where is the joke?"

I find it quite handy to use a non sequitur when trying not make a point.

I suppose my type of humor, as in my reply about what kind of system we should use to distribute CPKs doesn’t really translate well in text to someone unfamiliar with me and without more obvious context. I’ve always enjoyed satire.

As the never ending dead horse beating session is enivitably renewed as new people get thier socks blown off at thier first Friday sale, I should really just learn to ignore it as Nathan has instructed me to do.

JustinFournier JustinFournier Where's that goat when we need it? ;)

Today at lunch, Christmas music left me at a loss for words.

I find the English language lacking in its ability to fully convey the extent to which I don't care for Christmas music. "I dislike Christmas music" is an understatement. "Dislike" works for things like raisins and pineapple, but not Christmas music. But I don't hate it. I don't despise it. Those words are the right "strength" but aren't the right words.

What's the right word for something that used to be "dislike" but has festered for a few years and matured into something a little different? Darker and with more contempt.

I think that much of it is produced by people who also hate it, but must produce it because it's their job. There's a subtle malice to it. Nobody uses an Oompa Loompa beat for its musical merit. Instruments that are slightly out of key. You can tell it took a little extra effort. A passive aggressive piece of art.

I think loathe carries with it more emotional content. I like it better.

Or do I loathe it less??
