It's been a few years but I've been lookng for another motorcycle to ride to go on an extended tour.
Forgot to take a picture but took a test ride on a 2018 BMW R1200RT (similar to this one) yesterday.

It's the 1st time that I ever ridden a BMW w/a twin cylinder boxer engine. I previously owned/road a BMW K1200RS and a Kawasaki ZX10 -- both w/inline four cylinder engines -- and I didn't like the feel/balance/handling characteristics of this bike as compared w/those.
But riding it demonstrated how stale my riding skills are and reminded why I gave it up riding -- about 5 years ago -- the 1st place: it's a lot of trouble to put on all of the riding gear -- it's really hot to wear the gear (even ventilated) in 90 degree weather -- and it's not all that comfortable to ride. to begin with.
Seems like common sense, of course, but for some reason, I didn't mind all that when I was younger.
So, I'm not so sure I'm going to continue a search for a "new" bike after that and may just go on tour in one of my sports cars. LOL!!!![]()
I sold my bike because my daughter takes up all my time. I don’t really ride that much anymore. She will be missed…It's been a few years but I've been lookng for another motorcycle to ride to go on an extended tour.
