Random Thought Thread

For my next bike, I’m thinking early to late 90’s evo powered heritage, springer or road king. A ‘92 black and white Heritage Softail with whitewalls, and no windshield or saddlebags or leather (think softail deluxe) is what made me fall in love with Harley’s and bikes in general. I was 6 years when the owner let me sit on that bike. I’ll never forget it. Good times.

My 1994 ST1100 at Tortilla Flat, AZ. (Not me in the image. I took the picture.) Six weeks, six thousand miles...FL to AZ to UT to CO, around and back. Never been trailered.

Saw quite a few STs as police vehicles while vacationing and / or working in Europe.

Apparently, the six year old’s mother has failed her in training, I must now step in for remediation……

Is the mother a cat person?

I never understood the lack of understanding with putting the roll that way, until I was at a new cat owner's place (never had cats. Mildly allergic to them).

Asshole cat unrolled the entire thing out of boredom. According to other cat owners, putting it this way mitigates that (the roll won't unroll from the cat just repeatedly pawing it). Only reason I've found to be understandable.

When somebody tells me that their GF doesn’t want them to ride, I recommend buying one before marriage; you get to keep what you have :)

Wife and me when we were dating, 21 years ago.

Still like the GS.
Great advise.
I was divorced. MY Mother (🤫) mentioned in a Dr.s office “My son, needs a girl willing to hang off the back of a motorcycle.” The receptionist said, “I know one who has her own bike!” Done deal! (20 yrs.)

Hell, no! No cats around here. Honestly, at six, I'm just impressed she doesn't leave the empty tube on there, like I still do, eh, I mean, woulda have. She has received the proper instruction, just in a softer method than mine. Momma is more of a "I feel, you feel..." sort of approach. Mine is more direct, it will go something along the lines of ....."hangin' a new roll like that is down right un-American, 'n iffn' you do it that way again, Ima put my foot in 'yer little ass." She's a strong willed, hard headed, little wench sometimes, so I may have to add some color to the vocabulary to really get it to sink in.

A cop bike. I get these as loaner when my bike is serviced. Funny how people behave when I ride one of these, white bike in in black leather.

Do you mean one of these?

I've considered buying one like that but I'd rather just pass the cars at speed than piss them off faking being an active duty cop. LOL! ;)

BTW, you can put red and yellow lights on 'em -- just not blue, which are LEO only.

Looks similar. Back is different from radio and light mounts (taken off). My BMW shop (San Jose) services the CHP, so they use retired cop bikes as loaners.

But people can't tell from a distance. They only see a black & white bike and slow the F*CK down REALLY FAST!!!! LOL! 🤣

Me, personally, I'd rather "sneak up" on them and just pass them at speed before they even know what happen. ;)

The bikes that I've owned can pass 5-6 cars in the blink of an eye -- w/in less than 1/4 of a mile for those who've never experienced it. The speed of modern high speed motorcycles is what makes them appealing to "some" of us.

The HP to WT ratio can't be beat but, then again, there are other things to consider when riding a bike w/that much power.

Please use a NSFW tag on this kind of post. I almost threw up when I saw this. 🤮

The thought of the founder of the CoCKs club, getting 'colorful' with a 6-year old is simultaneously hilarious and a little concerning 😅

I have been cursed blessed with two girls. The previously mentioned demonic darling six-year-old and her eight-year-old sister who is my absolute doppelganger. Thier mom is making sure they grow into beautiful little daisies, while I am doing my damnedest to try and turn them into thistles. While she treats them with Miracle-Gro every day, I make sure to spray them down with Round-Up whenever I can to toughen them up and build some resilience.
