I'm holding out hope that we'll see a "Langdon-ized" Prodigy one of these days. But in the meantime, I'm supremely happy with the plebian version. I can't shoot that thing without getting a big grin. Although it sure likes to burn through ammo...
I'd honestly be happy with a plebeian version that works. Mine fails to return to battery about 10% of the time. I had it back to the mothership, and they polished and reamed the chamber and sent it back. But honestly while that is a known issue with the Prodigy, very few of the malfunctions I had even had the round get into the chamber, they just nosedive into the feedramp, so although I haven't had a chance to test it since it came back from SA, my confidence is not high.

Interesting. Do you have the 5" version? That's where I've heard most of the issues coming from, and it sounds like at least some of it can be addressed with a stronger recoil spring. Seems like SA has been shipping those pretty lightly sprung.

I have the 4.25" model and other than some Fiocchi 147gr that it didn't like, it's been issue free.

Mine is 4.25". I do have several different-weight recoil springs from 13# to 16# from Wolff to try, as well as two Staccato mags to see if my OEM factory mags are bad. Factory 5" recoil spring is 9#, and 12# for the Commander-length.

Yeah, I know some folks reported mags with rough feed lips that were affecting things as well. Mine are all fine and feed well. I'll be curious if trying the Staccato mags clears that up. If the OEM mags are an issue, I'd contact SA and send them back. They seem to have really good CS where things like that are concerned.

I've honestly moved on to Sigs for polymer guns but mainly 1911s for carry. But it's nice... for a Glock. I was actually thinking of letting it go and my SA Prodigy to get a Langdon Tactical 92 compact with all the bells and whistles or a second Colt Python. I actually got it when the Gen 4 Glocks first came out, and they came with three mags at the time, not sure if they're still doing that with the Gen 4 or Gen 5 guns.
If you have done without it for years and just got it back, consider it a back-up and don’t get rid of it. No matter how ugly they may be, they always go bang when you need them to despite the weather or conditions and you can always find parts to add or accessorize. You got it back for a reason! 😀

Also: Darrell Brooks verdict being read right now, so far guilty on all counts of first-degree intentional homicide and all counts that have been read so far of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon (about 40 of the 61 counts).
did you get to watch any of this clown show? it was surreal and if not for all the deaths and maiming he created would have been comic gold.

Plus if he has that Python, you KNOW it will be there for ya.
Used to have a Ruger GP 100 in 6” stainless. Overbuilt like the pythons, god they are fun to shoot. I got a hold of some hot loads a while back, didn’t know it at first. Scared the crap out of a few people at the range having never been near a 357 magnum at an indoor range.

I watched the last half - missed that the trial had started and missed opening statements and the prosecution, then watched since last week for the defense, jury instructions, and now the verdict.

Here's some highlights for people who missed it. It was a total clown show.

Darrell Brooks - guilty on all six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, guilty on all 61 counts of felony reckless endangerment of safety with a deadly weapon, guilty on all six counts of felony hit-and-run resulting in death, guilty on both counts of felony bail jumping, guilty of misdemeanor battery.
