  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

No lie having older children can be a punch in the balls and un needed stress on the the wife.....

Especially when the one in college makes a series of bad decisions

I don't even know if the word bad is correct in this case
I hear ya...been a bit of a nightmare here since Oct. Wasn't much to be thankful for this year unfortunately...

I’m starring out the window of my hospital room! It started out as pneumonia , which sucks, but I’ve dealt with it before. Now they’re found a dark spot which may be the infection, or scar tissue, or….maybe something else…
so to make it worse I’ve picked up a skin infection on my leg from all the antibiotics and steroids they pumped into me! Goody! Different antibiotic. All this since Thursday morning. So I’ve been chilling the last three days
And missed getting a couple of knives by seconds! Damn, all this time off a I still missed it by just a smidge.
Just wondering how you are doing. I hope you are getting better.

Honestly, I got over pneumonia, but found out I have lung cancer. I haven’t started testing to find what stage it’s in. That being said I’ve been a smoker for over fifty years ( I’m 67). So it’s not like I didn’t have a clue where t may be headed. But it’s still a gut punch. If caught early, there is a 95+ percent for 5 year plus survival.
So right now it’s one step at a time, one day at a time. And I feel perfectly normal! Gone back to work and doin’ my thing!!

Sorry to hear that. I hope it’s early and there is treatment available. Nothing seems adequate. Really sorry.

Very sorry to hear. Hang in there, stay positive ... easier to fight than it used to be.
