Got me some EDC2 edge cut antique micarta scales for my D2 EDC to hold me over!;)

I did the same thing on my D2. I'm loving the EDC2 scales on my EDC. It's my new favorite.

It's funny how small changes in scale size/thickness can make a noticeable difference. :D

Gus, looks like we're on the first page right up to and including @MikeKu825. Speaking of Mike, where the heck has he been? Hoping that all's well with Mike because he's been AWOL since early Oct and Mike was such an avid fan of the EDC pattern.

If you want my opinion based on no facts, I think that they'll be shipping out about 20 or so units for the preorder in addition to the 20 which will be offered for the Friday 1/19 sale.

Mike relocated. He assures me we will all be hearing from him again very soon. :)

Thanks Jo. I really came to like some of his out-of-the-leftfiled musings but after the Houston floods, he had totally disappeared on us. I knew that he was not directly harmed in and of itself, but he was going there to help out so I was wondering!!!

The comments about Christmas bills reminded me of this one. When we were younger and our kids still lived with us we would tour neighborhoods that had mega light displays. It wasn't unusual to see boxes or cans for donations.

What happened?
This started with a power outage on friday the 5th, took out my case, lost all produce. Power turns on blows both compressors and fan motors. repaired last wednesday. Now this on saturday night, my repair guys are coming this morning. Two and a half years zero problems, now this. My electrician thinks there is something wrong in the building. Hopefully I get some answers today.

If there was a partial outage (intermittent loss of a single phase) or a brownout prior to the full outage, it could possibly damage the equipment - Assuming it’s single phase 240,208 or 480 volt or its three phase equipment. It’s odd that it only affected one piece of equipment and that it took out both compressors and fans. They would have had to have been under load at the time of the surge or outage. It could happen though.

I hope they get something figured out for you, sounds like too much stuff blown to be coincidence.
This^^^
They must have failed to identify the actual problem or installed new parts incorrectly or incorrect parts were installed. Hope they aren’t trying to make you pay for the same work twice. It’s their job to correctly identify and remedy the problem.
I’d be interested to hear what the verdict was.

I'm waiting on insurance now. The fire looks to have started in the control board. Once insurance gets in to take pictures we can pull the case and rebuild it. two different electricians have checked the power coming in and dont believe that was the problem. Now I'm stuck on a marry-go-round... 3-4 weeks for the repair once the case in out of my shop.

That sucks!
I suspect something was done wrong on the repairs. I’ve seen my share of failed commercial/industrial equipment. Including some burnt up parts. The only time I’ve seen a fire or a motor burn it was because somebody hooked something up wrong or to the wrong voltage.
I saw a 3HP motor shoot a spectacular fire ball into the air when 480 volts 3 phase was applied to it because that’s what was on the nameplate of the machine. Motor was a multi tap and the equipment and motor had been re-wired (in the field/by the owner) as 3 phase 208V. Another time, though less spectacular, 120v applied to a single phase 208v motor. It still ran, just really hot. Thermal overloads saved it.
Hope it works out for you.
