We lived in Port Angeles, ourselves. Spokane, as well. My wifey wants to move back to Spokane but I want to go further East. Where are you at and what’s good about it?
Where I am it's still pretty rural, small town which I like. ID is also a staunch 2A state. Lots of good outdoor stuff that (so far, at least) isn't as overrun as a lot of other places in the West, though it's gotten busier through Covid and more out-of-staters are moving here. Some of that is fine, as long as they leave their politics and urban BS where they came from and don't bring it to us. ;)

I hear ya brother. Enjoy it.

Feel free to come visit some time! 🍻
Had my boy in Lineman school in Meridian awhile back. Visited twice and liked it. We spend time in Northern Idaho (Priest Lake, Sandpoint, etc. ) in the summers. PM me your location and I’ll drop through to buy ya dinner and drinks if we get nearby.👍🏼

do the thing where you stack tires.

add a tire and dirt once you see the sprouts. then push it over when you're ready to eat em.
I like that idea. We used those fabric grow tubs last season for the first time, and they worked surprisingly well.

I moved to Alaska 23 years ago from Boise. Spent all my free time exploring the state, which has some beautiful country. I know Boise has exploded in population and housing prices.
Yeah, it definitely has. Lots of tech companies have moved there as well. I'm kind of glad we are a long ways from Boise these days, with the way it has exploded.

Spent a fair bit of time working in AK as well - SE around Petersburg, Palmer, PWS, etc. Definitely miss it.

Boise was my least favorite part of Idaho! Lol. I sure enjoyed the fishing, hunting, and hiking though.

My cabin here is north of Willow. We have 240 acres 6 miles from the road and bordered by state land away from everything. We put in the trail/drive to get in and put the cabin on the highest point which has views of Denali, Hunter, Foraker, the Talkeetnas… it is a dream come true (but never ending work). I quit hunting after a very close encounter with a brown bear sow my first summer here. It was surreal and I just no longer had a desire to hunt. Tons of critters visit all the time and being out there is just amazing. I am heading out there Thursday for a few days to clear snow and break trail.

I think Harry Potter films have a Christmassy vibe.
