Dang. Wish I knew about this. Parents got me a 5 pack of Bombas a few years ago. Hands down worst socks I ever owned. :(
Holes almost immediately. I could have at least gotten new ones and donated or something.

All I own are Darn Tough socks. Only reason I buy more is when my wife takes my DT socks.
Hmm, I’ve had the opposite experience I wear steel toes everyday and the Bombas have held up for a year now, wife got em for me for Christmas last year and the 5 pair I have are still going strong. I wear a combo of Darn Toughs, Bombas and Smartwool. Wig wams have been the worst socks for me.

Thank you yoko yoko , Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist and Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist .

Andrew, I don't deserve the kindness...but thank you so much for the CPK cap. I'll wear it proudly and always be reminded of the friend it came from.

Nate, Jo...thanks for the shmoo. I'm sending it out to ensure it didn't come from a lab in Wuhan...just in case. (Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger...so there's that.) Seriously, though, thanks. It will be used happily.

Thanks guys. I came for the knives and got friends. (I'll still keep the knives though.)

Darn Tough are all I own/wear. They even have thinner (Ultra Lightweight line?) all-black wool socks that work as dress shoe socks.

Haven't had to use the warranty on any of them, but I've read of people making use of it, and they all said the same thing; sent them in with a return address. Replacement pair(s) showrd up in the mail.

***Bear in mind that they have a lot of different offerings, and the percentage of wool in them isn't all the same.

P.S.

If you hadn't heard of it, check out the govx site for discounts

And a lifetime replacement warranty. If you wear through them, send them in and they’ll send you a new pair.

I've honestly never even thought about their warranty because they all are holding up with zero issues. Aside from the white ones being dirty, they all look like new. Good to know I will never have to buy another pair of socks in my life!

''lookimg'' forward to hearing about it.

wait 🤔🤨

I've been too afraid that I would be one of those people who would get complications (dry eyes) from LASIK.

It has been less than 24 hours. I just had my post op follow up and eyething s going well. Flaps are where they should be, no infection, and my vision is 20/20. Inflammation and a little swelling ,redness, normal things post eye surgery so my vision should continue to get more clear as time goes on.
The procedure is *supposed* to take like 10 mins. It took about 45 mins with me. Theres this whole thing innate in a human where when your eyes are getting pushed in, you kinda of tense up and try to escape, which is what I did in terms of shutting my other eye, and tensing. Doc had to suction and press my left eye( all normal parts of the procedure) like 4 times. Several applications of the numbing drops were needed as the eye lid speculum hurt going in and coming out. Trying to force one's eye shut against metal equals losses on all fronts. So my eye lids were pouffy.
They give you a Valium pre-procedure and it def helped, but the sense of pressure, and temporary loss of vision is wild.
Last night was rough. Thankfully my wife is at least 45% angel and took care of our son, and me as I curled up and cried* myself to sleep.
I'll being eye drops for about a month and wearing some safety glasses at work/home and goggles for sleep for the next week. But so far so good.

*crying not because of an emotional experience, just a physical response to the situation e.g., pressure, inflammation, etc.

I spent a lot of time thinking about my patients who under go elective surgery for say a rotator cuff repair then come in a few days later to see me and how they describe how painful it is. I suppose it waqs similar in being more painful than they expected (or maybe they weren't told at all).

My surgeon was awesome, very professional. I would def recommend him to others.

Wow!

I'm glad it all went well

Nathan's "Shmoo" is strong...

Just applied it to a basswood block I had lying about and waited a little while for the application to dry.

Did a nice job on the EDC 2 cleaning up a few spots along the edge, leaving it nice and bitey on my fingernail, but slicing cleanly through telephone book paper.

(You'll see a bit of shmoo on the bevel and edge as the image was taken before wiping it down.)

Go for a light even mist
I would've but that's the way it came out after shaking pretty good, and there's enough spread out along the length and width that the entire edge got hit. (I can always clear the nozzle in future.)

It comes out a little thicker than the other stuff I have, but I can tell I like the way it works. The edge is ready for work on the next stack of cardboard or whatever needs cutting around the house.

Wasn't "SR-101" 52100? Or am I mixing that up with something else?

(I should add that I've long been a fan of 52100 and have many knives with it, folding and fixed. But it's a different animal than Delta 3V)

Thank you Nathan, for involving me in your little venture.
You're a good friend.
Top o the season to you and fam!
♥️

I think that Nathan ought to return the favor(u)r and start an "I Heart Lorien" Thread in your own sub. I am the Cupid of all matters of love (OK, busted in a lie because I almost hate everything that moves not named Nathan, Jo, Mark and perhaps you!) and I'll show up to serenade you over there. What's your favorite animal so that I'll always keep reminding you that you will never ever own one! Can't be a pony though, that one is already taken ;)
