Random Thought Thread

Something really is wrong with me, I haven’t been feeling the best lately, and the thought of drinking a strong IPA almost made me sick. WTF man.

Few days with me you'll be "strong like bull" able to enjoy multiple IPAs and stumble into your fence post knocking them down as a helpful side effect lol

Baby steps bro.. baby steps

you're a linesman then?

I wrestled in high school and one of the guys who would come up and beat on us was a linesman.
Yes sir, I am. I only do emergency response stuff these days though. No more digging holes and stuffing poles .

Wrestlers are mean. Thank you again for the KEP. My kid is gonna love it !

what does ''quadruple IPA'' mean?

am dumb

To add to yoko's comment, it is essentially a rather strong IPA. A double is the equivalent to an "Imperial" (bigger malt and hop profiles, higher ABV) - triples and quadruples take that concept and run with it. I am not a huge IPA fan but when I do drink them, I prefer Imperials and above. Flavors are richer, more balanced and complex, and generally makes for a more enjoyable experience.

Also, (I've been called out on this before) the stronger the ale is, the more one should consider letting it "warm" (get closer to room temp). In my humble opinion, drinking IPAs at ice cold temps should be a sin. 😁

Sorry, I realize that may have come across as pointlessly pedantic. My forum barometer has been off for a bit now.

Beer is good. Strong beer is even better. Whisky rules all.

Excellent! I'm more on the cooler side of drinking them.. but another thing I do is gently roll the can before drinking or pouring into a glass

But agree with you totally on the imperials!!!

Double, triple and quad are my favorite

Some quads if to warm loose some flavor and fall a bit too boozy

I'm to much of a simpleton to join in on whiskey ... some one once told me their favorite tasted like leather....

I don't want to drink leather lol

I had my first hornet experience today. There was one in our apartment stairwell.
I took my sandal off to try squish it while it was against the glass but couldnt get a good shot because it kept moving. So my wife went up the stairs to get bug spray.

But then the thing decided to charge at me and I got it mid air with the sandal and smacked it to the ground. That didnt quite kill it, but enough for it to be unable to get itself back up. And then a good few stomps after that was enough to do the trick.

Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist are you hiring? I heard you had a hornet problem

Eta; will do hornet security for CPKs

Warms my heart

She was gonna be my one and only safe queen. Sadly, I chipped the edge, on either another CPK…..or Kryptonite . Now she’s chipped and “Chip’d”, lol. I have no choice but to sharpen and use it ! Some will cringe and some will smile.

Unless you are bad at sharpening, as long as you are careful, you can quickly make it perfect again.

I read an article that said that Bengals QB Joe Burrow gave all his offensive linemen last year $126 Casio G-Shock watches . . . custom encrusted with 14 carats of diamonds.

WTH? To quote a movie line, that's like putting an elevator in an outhouse.

I'm not trying to diss Casio G-Shock watches. I own a couple myself and wear one of them quite a bit. I happen to think that some models of the G-Shock line (in particular the Casio G-Shock GWM5610-1) offer the greatest values one can find in a watch.

But hiring a jeweler to encrust a $126 battery-powered quartz watch with 14 carats of diamonds?? Wow.

Then again, I think some of the watches that Casio sells are insanely priced right off the shelf.

Like this one.

The Casio G-Shock MR-G Ayasugi Gassan 40th Anniversary Limited Edition MRGB2000GA-1. With an admittedly cool looking Damascus-steel-like bezel (at least cool to a knife knut like me).

Retail Price: $8000. No, that is not a typo. $8000. For a Casio.

I like watches as much or more than the next fellow. But wow.
