Well lets say you take this forum, if chat gpt makes it so you don't need to ever go here to get your answer, the forum makes less money from ad views. Google is fine because it just directs you here in the search results, so you come here, you see the ads, or buy a membership.Why would permission be needed to include webpages/content in Chat GPT's answers, if permission isn't currently required in order for that content to appear in standard search engine results? Even if this provision has been put in place, I'd guess that it will erode pretty quickly, with lots of precedent already established for being able to include & incorporate content that is "in the commons."
The bladeforum is not going to take any legal action, but when you get to bigger companies like Quora, or Getty images, they will quickly take legal action against AI's that are using their content without permission.
