Spoken like a physicistTrue, of course, in computer science too.
Chemical Physics: Physical Chemistry is on the boundary. In the US such work applied to molecules is usually done in chemistry departments. In Europe it's done in physics departments. The physicists claim I'm doing physics in the chemistry department and the chemists agree. He may do so on Fridays but for the other 6 days of the week, he’s a chemist![]()
That's actually a scary thought. My son is 4 and while exceedingly cute, he's fucking diabolical. And chimpanzees are one of the most intelligent creatures living on the earth. I have heard they have the intellect of a 4-year-old child.

well, see- that's my 'worry', (I'm not really worried).Anthropomorphizing AI is a common thinking error.
We evolved into a dangerous war loving world dominating organism and assume that AI would too. Because that is what we would do.
And maybe it will? Hopefully not?
I agree, but also keep in mind it might also do something that makes no sense like colonize space with bananas, or make every atom into tiny little goldfish, and as as small casual side effect of it grand irrational goal, wipe out humanity.well, see- that's my 'worry', (I'm not really worried).
Try as I might, I can't really think of a single positive thing that humanity brings to the table, vis a vis, our planet, (or disc) other than solve problems that we create.
When ai does the math, and sees that virtually everything we humans do imperils the viability life on earth, it might just do what makes the most sense, and remove the threat entirely...
Have a great weekend!
Long live Grunge!
Man, I really don't think that AI is going to implement killer robots. That doesn't make any sense. The AI will have control of the money. It will just pay people to kill everyone. No need for robots.

The problem is, AI learns by sifting through available information. The mass of all available information it finds, is from humans.Anthropomorphizing AI is a common thinking error.

I'd suggest not looking up recent Victoria's Secret models. Better to live in the past, in this case. The only way they're going to defeat me is if they make them all look like Victoria's Secret models from years ago.
(Is that catalog still a thing...or permitted?)

I walked by a victoria secret yesterday, 1 out of 3 was better than I had expected.I'd suggest not looking up recent Victoria's Secret models. Better to live in the past, in this case.
It's just another tool..... until it lights the atmosphere on fire.Nah. It's just another tool. A tool that man has made. Just like other tools. Nuclear energy. The internal combustion engine. Social media. I'm sure it will be fine.
A long time ago, I bought a polycarbonate+lexan flashlight made by Pelican. They happily touted that the light was made with the types of plastic used to make bulletproof/bullet resistant glass, and that the light was extremely tough. That's actually a scary thought.
