Random Thought Thread

Do tell! (*and post a link if you don't think it will piss-off the Corporate overlords)

We've had some cool nights here in South Texas, and I've been leaving the kitchen sliding-glass door open for my two little furry terrorists.

The kitchen lights have been attracting flies/flying bugs, and I've been thinking of acquiring a "BUG-A-SALT" gun.

Only one I've ever had that will zap something as small as a fruit fly

They may provide amusement, but they, bug zappers, are pretty useless according to most reports...

Bug Zappers, yep, works but quite indiscriminate, leaves piles of food below it that the birds love to pick through the next morning, zaps can provide group entertainment, depending on the larger ones (insects) creating more extended frying duration noise entertainment.

The hand help tennis racket size electronic bug zapper's are hoot, even fries the wings off Wasps in mid air durn the day, and roving inside Giant Wolf Spiders and Centipedes are no match for El Zappo. Duracell’s ensure peak performance. I’ll choose that over a standard fly swatter anytime.

Caveat Emptor: There is a slight after smell of the burring bug juice Crematorium affect to contend with though 😁

We have some members here, (on BF, not in this sub-forum, of course), in serious need of professional head shrinkers.

Serious. Need.

Sigh.
If anyone is or was wondering what I was referring to...see the following links to the relevant post and thread...in which I first describe what had occurred on the evening in question...and then what happened just last night to bring about my comment in the above quote ^^^^^^.

You can't make this stuff up.

Not for wasps, but the mosquito magnets are phenomenal for skeeters (and some black flies). The propane along with attractant and having them battery operated for the fan is super convenient. We use 2 by the cabin and 1 at the house. My neighbor loves it because it reduces the skeeters so much.

I went to grab my electric fly swatter big zapper thingy last night... and it was broken

While on a beer/grocery run I found a new one......

And it's freaking awesome!!!!

It's like the electric chair for insects..... fruit flies implode and pop..... horse flies, hornets etc sound like a firework going off !!!!

I spent most of last night chasing bugs and reigning down justice..... even woke up early this morning to clean up and do the same

Way more fun than my last bug zappy thingy lol

(I'm sure the neighbors will complain about me stumbling around the front yard and cussing out bugs last night at some point)

do I keep dumping money into saving for a house or do I repurpose a small amount of it toward a new 12 gauge pump and ammo?

or the PSA Rock with like 20 mags and ammo?

or a single shot break open .308 SBR and can?

I mean I dont even like guns?

or water balloons?

or a high quality optic?

decisions decisions....
Get a Mossberg Maverick 88, get on ammoseek (basically google for ammo) and get around 250rds of #7 birdshot 2 3/4" shells. You can get that for around $100 or less), and still have closing costs for a home loan 😁
