Don't mean to ruffle feathers but personally speaking I would not alter any knife which originates from Nathan's unless that knife is well used and / or in need of a lot of TLC because of user's "abuse".

If it were narrower and longer, I think that would have been better, but what do I know. If it were me, I would try and play with it and see what else can work.

Great to see you back Brian and hoping that all's very well with both You and Yours :)

How did that HDFK-D2 do for you and your plans to use it in your butchering tasks?

Part of the fun of owning knives is to experiment and modify a knife occasionally to make it "Truly yours" If you want to modify, I say GO FOR IT! I will get a BC modified to include a Swedge:thumbsup:

In your own words I think you mean "Big Damn Knife", Sir.

    It's the BDK from CPK.

Random thought... it must be that somehow time actually slows down while the USPS is in possession of a knife that is being shipped to you...

    Aaaahhhh.

    Slooowww.

    Sigh.

It has been great. we are cutting up 10 hogs for a benefit auction on Saturday. It will be at a, local butcher shop. Not sure if they will allow use of my knives or not. If so, I will let you know . I absolutely love Nathan's D2 for meat work.

Didn't Stephen Hawking write about that, something about "The Grief and Mystery of Time"?

Not a bad run at all for someone who was only given a couple of years at most those many, many, many moons ago! Quite a ladies man too ;) May you happily traverse the Universe Professor Hawking.

Well, got into the Rum after work, which lead to something I have been too nervous to do for a long time.

Here is what the inside of a $2000 Shirogorov Custom Division looks like.

I remember seeing a video of a very bright lil' Carothers that rattled off ~15 decimals of pi on demand. It was impressive and appropriate today.
