I'm looking for a DEK 1 or DEK 2/3, so can you let me know if you want to part with yours to me? I gave up my UF2 as being a little too big for my needs, and am on the lookout for any DEK#
I think his plan is to give his son in law and daughter his knives

I can say if you like the UF2 , the DEK1 feels like it's little brother
(I f-ing love the UF2)

My DEK 2 is way thinner behind the edge because of Mark's hollow grind magic so I can't give a real comparison on that

OMFG!!!! What motor???

Real 442???
Unfortunately no (would probably keep it if it was). PO made it look like one, but it's just a Cutlass Supreme with a Rocket 350. Funny thing is, in 1972 you could get a 442 with a 350, so if he stopped there it would all jive. But no, he also put the W-30 badge on it, which means it should have the 455. Even went so far as to paint the engine blue instead of gold.

Better than the scrim reaper?🤔
Different. A little warmer. Less grip heavy. And about 3 ounces lighter, plus however much shorter...

Doesn't lock into the grip in the same way. Think rounder and less sculpted.

Both are great...but different. The EDC is more of a "generalist" if I had to try to describe the difference.

120% agree. Perfect forms follow function and all that.

Now, how should I say this .... the Dek3 doesn't exactly win a beauty contest for this beholder. There, I said it, and I'll say it only once :p

Then again, I like bowies 🤣
That's interesting. I'm loving the DEK3, which is an unusual CPK in many respects. The choil, the hollow grind, the thin stock, all a little different. I'd say it's a must-have for CPK collectors.

Since it seems to be confession Sunday, I must also confess that initially I was not too thrilled about either DEK 2 or DEK 3 because at the time when those patterns were proposed, out of my own pure self interest, I was thinking aloud why not Folder, Shiv and the Integral? But since I had once made the gravest (rookie) mistake of not getting onboard with the CPK-Chopper preorder in those earlier CPK days when most of you whipper-snappers were not even born, I knew that I would never make that kinda error twice! Many months later, both 2 & 3 have grown on me so much that I am very eagerly awaiting for my number to be rang by NinJo, however long that may be and frankly speaking, having just preordered 1 x DEK3 makes me mad enough to even wanna befriend Marc some more so that I can pry an extra one out of his cold dead hands! Where's that bastid anyway?!

If it wouldn’t break my daughters heart I would. She has dibs on every knife I own / buy at this point. Ive promised her my horse trading days are over and all new or already owned knives will end up in her collection. She and I went thru her 100+piece collection last month and lets just say I am a substantial benefactor! The only reason my boy-in -law gets the FK2 is honestly the same reason you gave up yours, the handle is just too big for her hand.

That's sweet 😊 Only my son is into knives, not my wife or 2 daughters, and he's the type that would rather refuse a knife I offer to him than take one from me that he wont use or carry. I love that he's not the "gimme gimme gimme..."

It was actually the UF2 blade length was too long for me to carry around easily when camping, and not as much an issue with the handle. I traded the UF2 + $300 for an $1150 Rockstead Shin folder last week, and I meant to join in the mele' on Friday to win a chance to buy a DEK2 but got sidetracked.

I have a Les George Magnate with 4" CPM Magnacut blade that can fill that smaller knife role for a little while, plus a SwampRat RatManDu that was more of the UF2 size; but the CPK UF2 was on another level in aesthetics and form and I want to have the Delta 3V steel as well.
