I really hope I didn’t lose my favorite knife.
My Dad would do the exact same thing. Drove me crazy to no end when I was a kid and he would say that. Now, it makes me laugh. I guess I've matured.I had to laugh at this ^^^ post.
When I read your post before it, it made me think of my Dad.
I used to ask him. "Dad, do you know where my _______ (*fill in the blank) is? He would always say, "It's where you left it."![]()

Swear I gave that back to you...I can't find my integral dagger. I think I lent it to somebody.
When you find it, I'm next on the passaround.Swear I gave that back to you...
For sure. My Dad had an incredibly dry wit, that I didn't always appreciate enough at the time. Sometimes it was so dry I didn't even know he was joking until I thought about it later. But on the other hand, I still think about him today, and he still makes me laugh, so I guess that's a pretty good legacy. For me, it's the lack of it.
I think I've told y'all this before, but my Dad passed in 2012. I'd kill for just a crumb of his wit and harassment, now.
It's amazing what you want when you know you can't have it.
