Love the little squeakers!

Five more mommas due, two with likely (at least) triplets, one with poss. quads!

Bad timing seeing a bobcat last night.

Sleeping in the barn with my own cat this evening (15+1 Hellcat, that is... : )
New mommas are a little flakey, so i'll be around to dissuade any curious critters from.... being curious.

crazy things happen when becoming a parent
valiant effort!
what a ride

the tally;
3 mommas delivered, 3 to go

1 new momma had 2 stillbirths, super sad
she's heartbroken
after few hours of her cleaning them and chilling, when she wandered away i placed them in the loving property burial spot with a large wild purple violet on top

another new momma had 2

an experienced momma just had 4

with the 6 ewes, we're expecting 12-16 lambs

thankfully i'm on a week off 🍻👍
wife's bday is tomorrow
she's ecstatic!
our girl hasn't seen the lambs yet, she's going to spontaneously combust!

look at the size disparities!

I had an Anatolian Shepherd dog that lived with my goats since she was 9 weeks old. She was an amazing dog. The instincts she had never ceased to amaze me. The goats didn’t like dogs being around but totally accepted her as part of the herd. Just watching the subtle way she interacted with them was really cool. She would drop her head like she was grazing while she was mingling in the herd. But during kidding season she would really shine. The expectant mothers would become nervous if I was too close right when they were getting ready to kid but the dog would lay with them and clean the new babies very gently while the mother had the other babies and the goats totally trusted her. She was very vigilant about her watch during those times.

Simply the best.

I saw her in 1969 with the Stones, B.B. King and Janis Joplin. Talk about a show.

Just found this online:

I forgot about Terry Reid...who I believe opened.

WOW! Just look at all the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers in that line-up . . . Stones, Turner, BB King, Joplin. They could have all been headliners.

Interersting that Tina Turner is in the Hall, but they left Ike out. She overcame a lot and had a tough life. Ike was a bad drug addict and a mean son of a bitch.

RIP.

What's even more amazing is that it was before most of the people populating this sub-forum and site were born. It's hard for me to imagine...especially because I had just turned 17 at the time.

17! And my girlfriend that I took with me was 15 or 16. It's just friggin' nuts.

Oh well...(That's why they invented beer, I guess. 🤣 🍻)
