You aren’t kidding !!!!! My friend is having his Camaro painted in a deep red color. I believe he said the materials alone was almost $5,000.00 My other buddy had his Harley fender painted and material was $110.00 just for a fender !!!!!sgt1372 paint prices are insane right now....I can't believe how much they have jumped in just the last 5 years.... it's honestly ridiculous!!!
It would probbly still be cheaper for me drive the truck to you than pay for the work to be done here.
Got a ridiculous estimate to just repaint the roof/hood where paint is peeling, so I just let it go and I'm sure the neighbors are tired of looking at it.
LOL!![]()
2 weeksI feel like my DEK pre order is just around the corner~

My car is staying its factory color blue and I’m still afraid lol. I have time though , I still need to finish the drivetrain rebuild.

I had some one that worked for my other paint system that would've helped me on full repaint costs if you threw a product sticker on your car after it was done and painted
This current system is different , even though I'm still new to it .. tech reps have texted me asking answers to problems, and I've helped.. but they have yet to offer me any kind of discount etc
I'm sure things will change soon since my industry still can't get any new people in it ... and the older guys are retiring
The guy who has my car now sprays Glasurit and Spies Heckler. I was talking to him about using the high solids. But who knows what will change. And I know nothing about painting. I just ask a lot of questions when I see nice paint work lol.
Body’s shops are falling off the map all over around here.
Good to know , I ll have to ask if he’s using water.I am currently using glasurit, it's a nice system if using water
The clear is very nice
(I can believe in shops disappearing)
What's the gm paint code of your color?Good to know , I ll have to ask if he’s using water.
What's the gm paint code of your color?
Are you looking back to stock or maybe add a little something?
(Just asking cause I can look up the code and different variants on the color and maybe make some suggestions)
Awesome color!1970 formula firebird code 26 Lucerne Blue
I would like to stay close to factory. As I have its big brother in the garage waiting to be next. 1970 Trans am same color![]()
Maybe Kid Rock will stop by for more range targets.Ayyy yooo

This is just a suggestion that might buy time. There’s a hand applied coating called Poppy’s Patina. While not a paint job , it does look good on certain vehicles. I’ve used it with good results on a few different vehicles. One friends old rusty rat rod that we just sanded the rust and wiped it over.
But there’s no replacement for a nice paint job![]()
Thanks for the suggestion! Something's gotta be done.
It would probably take at least 2 kits of Poppy's Patina to do my F250 longbed but the cost of 2 kits would be a lot less than a paint job. A paint job would definitely be better but if I got started trying to "Overhaul'n" the truck, I'd be looking at WAY MORE bucks that I want to spend on the project.
Awesome color!

I guess if I was considering a variant. I might try to lean to darken it ? Only because this year car has the endura front bumper. The firebird has the factory functional fiberglass hood. Plus both cars have the fiberglass spoilers. Anyway I’m rambling , I worry about adding flex additive for these and getting a color difference ?
Car one is on the rotisserie currently. Spraying the bottom red oxide color, cowl and toe board satin black.
What price range were you quoted?
And color?
See here I am all worrying about nothing apparently lol.Honestly..... I can't remember the time I last added flex additive , that was a positive on modern urethane paints is that it wasn't needed anymore
