Don't buy from flippers, please.
Who run Carotherstown?

if your yard upkeep bill has you depressed, don't even try to think about all the insurance you've paid into all this time and got nothing for...

Anyone w/a mortgage has to pay for homeowners insurance as a condition of the loan.

I could pay off my mortgage tomorrow and go uninsured but that wouldn't make much sense because I'd rather than the cash on hand that would go towards paying off the loan and would rather not have to pay out of pocket for the cost of repairs which will be far more than the insurance premiums paid if my house burns down.

Can knives still be flipped for a profit?

Seems to me that most buyers have they hands in their pockets and that few people are paying the high prices once paid for knives (flipped or not).

I have about 100 knives that I'd like to sell (just to break even) but my initial attempts to sell a few for what I paid for them, which was at the low end, was met with silence or low ball offers that I found insulting.

Let me know if things have changed and I'll try again.

There are CPKs right now being flipped for well above what their recent msrp was.

I agree with you in general - there are plenty of knife brands with which you will be lucky to sell it for what you paid, but there are also exceptions to that - just look at the ridiculous prices people are paying for GECs, for example.

I understand, within reason, the arguments about "supply and demand," and "the price is whatever the market is willing to pay," etc. But that doesn't negate that flippers poison the well and ruin a good thing. To put it simply, it's a dick move, imo.

CPK is an exception to the norm. Secondary markets for these knives run pretty high.
