Name that poop...on the driveway, (crushed gravel), just now. Note the hair...

I am no scat expert but I do look at animal scat frequently to see what critter and what was eaten. A size would help, but being elongated and with fur I would think coyote. Bobcat scat apparently is quite segmented and they tend to at least attempt to cover it like cats with litter.

There are some great scat guides for folks interested in critters. A trapper I know can tell between an Ermine and Mink…. All I can say is a weasel of some sort.

Thanks to birds and bears on my property, raspberry patches are all over the place now. Last year I was picking berries at my favorite patch about 150 yards from my cabin. When I was walking back there was a huge fresh pile of bear scat full of berries on my driveway that was not there 15 min prior- almost looked like a GI bleed! I think it was just letting me know that we like the same patch and a gentle warning to leave some🤣.

You never know what you'll run into when getting caught up in this thread.

In other news, I am flying out to Maine in a few days to visit with family. I will then be road tripping back to Oregon. I am not entirely sure of the route I'll take but if opportunities arise to meet some of you fine folk along the way, it would be a shame to squander the opportunity.

Sir........ if you are near Toledo Ohio on your way back ...... please contact me!!!!!!!

You might even be close enough in timing to hang out with us midwest guys at Meadville on the 27th to watch the CPK team!!!

I have a friend in Portland that I really need to visit. If you're a seafood fan, I highly recommend Street and Company. Their Lobster Fra Diavolo is amazing.

I will look it up! And yes, huge seafood fan - every time I visit over there (which is not nearly frequent enough), I try and eat as much lobster as I can. My dad hates seafood though (I have no idea how we are related 😁).
