Name that poop...on the driveway, (crushed gravel), just now. Note the hair...

fisher cat (or other weasel) vs porcupine is my guess. Or a small/medium feline. Are lynx down there in your hills?
very well known that fishers dive for the belly of porcupines for a quick evisceration... then leisurely meal.

Depending on how far along your unit is at NTC and how long it's been since anyone made it to the PX, a half can of Cope might well make that package attractive to at least a dozen E-4s.

Brother, I thought I replied to your post, but didn't...and you're absolutely CORRECT.

I was at "Camp Adder" (*Tallil Airbase/Muthana Province, Iraq), circa 2007.

On more than one occasion, I met a Soldier at the "MWR", to buy some sh!tty can of "Mango" or "Berry" Skoal, like I was scoring Meth or "blow"...for about $20 a can.

Man, if you weren't at the PX when the rolls of "Cope" hit, you were sh!t outta' luck, and were left to score the leftovers.

I reckon a lotta' Warfighters supplemented their "hazardous duty" pay by selling tins of dip. 😕

I'm going to laugh react this one as someone who got through a whole enlistment without ever using tobacco. 🤣

Forget flipping knives, anyone who wants to make real cash should sell tobacco to deployed soldiers.

"Laugh" and "Love", Brother.

...laugh and love. 😄

*Me and my 249 ran on 5.56 belts, Rip-Its, and the occasional cans of Cope. 😍

Really cr*ppy iPhone photo of a Wolfpack of 4 that we saw close to Jackson Hole when driving home in February. Me and the dogs heard them quite a few times in the early morning, this is the first time I saw them. There is at least 1 pack close to Dubois, and 2 or more in Yellowstone.

Be back in the mountains next week, can't wait :)

Really, Roland?

I think Tensegrity Tensegrity realized that I was referring to a different member of the genus. But thank you for your erudite comment.

Sigh.

Which member ? If you guys can distinguish poop from different lynxes (spell?), more power to you.

Hey, at least there was no spelling error. “Why do I even bother” :)

Bless your heart.

Back at ya.

What type of wild cats are in NC?

Bobcat (from NC WINS) | NCpedia

People Interactions. Bobcats are very adaptable and will use a wide variety of habitats, enabling them to live close to people. However, due to their secretive behaviors, they often go undetected. The bobcat is the only wild cat found in North Carolina.

And that is the variety of "lynx" I was referring to, but thank you again for explaining what I already knew in my reply to Tensegrity Tensegrity

The US mostly has bobcats, but some of the states bordering Canada have both bobcats (lynx rufus), and Canadian lynxes (lynx canadensis).
