I did this with a portable Weber charcoal grill. Now I just use a big porcelain tile underneath.

I'm looking at a small portable aluminum table. I could totally see myself melting a plastic one!

Yea, what does happen to all the rejected blanks anyways? Can't you just anneal and reharden it?

No. Not in this case, unfortunately. 80% are literally scrap. Going into the same bucket as the drops etc. Not usable, cannot be salvaged.

The DEK3 is the largest reject rate in our company history. We've never lost more knives, either by percentage or in total numbers, than this project. The vast majority of the MC DEK3 are getting buried in the creek bed.
