I’ve had a headache since about 10:30am. Most likely due to dehydration because I’ve been in an attic and on a rooftop today. But the gods didn’t think I had suffered enough. Every trip to the roof I’ve been cognizant of the low clearance area (in the attic) just before the roof hatch. One last trip to go gather my tools off the roof… BLAM!!! Slammed my head into the 2x8 I’ve been avoiding all day.
I could hear the gods laughing.

No birds. Just the white flash of light followed by involuntary cussing.

I learned to wear a hat up there due to a slick dome. Sometimes just the tiniest of notice can at least lessen the blow. Otherwise I have smacked into em full on. Hat works wonders even though they are hot.

It was horribly hot and humid. Of course, the rooftop felt like a breezy, spring day compared to the attic.

I always wear a hat. Both to cover the baldness and so I can mount my edc light on the bill.

The bird is smart enough not to follow me. It’s tough navigating attics with my peg leg though.
