We had a GSP growing up named Belle. She was a wonderful dog, miss that lil pooch.I will say, that aside from my Weimaraner, I always like German Shorthaired Pointers.
They have a lot of commonality...aside from the obvious markings on the coat and the Weim being a bit larger. My guy was big for a Weim.
Here's a little guy whose image I grabbed off the web...

I have a feeling I've read them, Mat. (And, unfortunately, this our second go-round. The last was three months before we rescued Skyler ten years ago next month.)
We're not breaking any new ground, it's just our turn (again).
This was the last guy I shed tears over...

Wow! That's amazing! So, speaking of dogs and "spooky" stuff. I had bought this bench stone from "Ragnar's Ragweed Forge" some years before the owner had passed away. Mostly because I thought it an attractive stone, and not because I thought it would be particularly useful for putting a finished edge on any of my knives.
Anyway, the images online did not prepare me for what I saw when I got the stone in the mail. I was like...WTF? I called my wife over and said, what do you see when you look at this stone?
She looked at it for a moment, then looked at me and said..."It's Smoky!" To this day we call it "Smoky's Stone".
Here's a few shots. It's hard to reproduce in images, but if you look carefully, you'll see his eye, ear, nose and muzzle. It's easier to pick up in person.
