Well, they do sell new ones ya know. I despise an undependable auto of any kind. Yes, they are expensive but your time is very valuable and the frustration level is hard on everyone involved.
Go buy a new truck and spend your time being creative. Win win
You’re welcome Jo

It has been a very difficult to find a reasonably priced new truck recently

In my opinion, Ford makes the best work truck. Chevy makes the best luxury truck. And Dodge makes the best in between.
Toyotas are better overall than all three, but they don't sell heavy duty in the United States. But if you've ever owned a Toyota, you know they don't break easy. Toyotas are engineered to last. I think nine out of 10 Toyotas are still on the road.
And yes, the F150 and the Toyota tundra go back-and-forth for the best selling truck in the United States. and that says a lot for Toyota. Because if they weren't good, Americans would not buy them.
There are some American made Toyotas, you have to look at the Vin number. If it starts with a J, it's made in Japan. And those ones tend to be better.
I agree with most of what you said about Toyotas except the “built to last” part. I’ve seen all the hilux videos.
Here in the US salt belt they do not last as long due to corrosion. From the 80’s hilux through all past generations of Tacoma it has been a problem. This is the frame I’m talking about. They have done “buy backs” and customer service campaigns (limited time recalls), but haven’t addressed the problem.
So you have a drivetrain that could go another couple hundred thousand miles sitting on a frame made of rust dust.

Yes they are known to rust.
LPS-3 for undercoating will solve that problem. That's what the United States military uses on all of their vehicles for under coating.

In case you were wondering . . . I wasn't the person from CA who won the $1.7 BILLION in the Powerball drawing yesterday.

Powerball Numbers for 10/11/2023

I decided not to thow another $100 at it but only because I was too lazy to leave the house drive to the convenience store where I get my gas to buy one.

🤷‍♂️

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have won anyway. LOL! ;)

So I suppose following you around and posting first in line after you was for naught. Worth a shot.
