If I watch or hear anymore from some, "prepper" preaching the way. While standing on a $500,000+ homestead. I'm gonna spit.

Prep now! Buy these cans and this battery. Protect yourself because everyone living in an apartment is screwed.

Bugout bag! Which translates into a homeless starter kit.

Oh My Goodness. We're screwed. You're screwed, I'm screwed. But the bugout has some powdered energy drink in it.

So I'm watching Cops and thinking what would happen if I got stopped and he asked me if there were any weapons in the truck and I had to tell him well, three guns, five knives, a hatchet, an axe, a couple of locks on a rope and two sticks, why?

I took a couple buddies out one Saturday many moons ago for a day of shooting. We took shotguns and rifles and a few handguns of various types and calibers.

Well it was fall and many hunting seasons had opened recently. We were driving the countries roads taking the long way back to town and the game warden came down the road as we were stopped at a crossroad and he decided to pull up in front of my blazer and stop to check us.

When we came to my door he asked if we were hunting and if we had any game in the truck. I replied no we hadn't been hunting, we had been target shooting earlier. He then asked if we had any loaded guns in the truck, this was just before I got my permit so nothing was, but he wanted to check them.

You should have seen his face when I shut the blazer off and walked to the back and opened the tailgate and started handed him gun after gun to check. After about a half hour and probably 20 plus guns he said "well I don't reckon any of the others are loaded either, so I think we're good ... enjoy the rest of your day". MERICA!

None of his Damn business.....

Were you breaking the law when he stopped you?
Didn't sound like it....

If he had no probable cause and it sounds like he didn't, you should of thanked him kindly and asked to leave.... No search, No reason to.

You don't have to let him know what you have.
Remember, you have the Right to remain silent...... That's a GOOD thing. It's to protect you.

Pretty much here too. Everything I mentioned as being in the truck is 100% legal in this state. And so far as I can tell, our local deputies seem to be ok people. Thing is, if they ever ask, I will tell. Safer for everybody that way.
We have a duty to report in NC.

ETA: To clarify any confusion...I was referring to carrying concealed. (What is secured in the trunk or in a lock box is a separate matter under the law.)

As a matter of professional courtesy, I inform when visiting other states as well, regardless of whether it is required by state law, since I can carry anywhere in the U.S .

With all due respect I think you should learn more about what rights most Game Wardens have. If the officer had any suspicion of a violation, OR that any hunting was taking place, they can search the vehicle as they have the right and duty to enforce firearm restrictions for hunting.

While duty to inform generally involves concealed carry, it is asinine to not be respectful and forthcoming when dealing with law enforcement. Fish & Game officers assume everyone is carrying a weapon, so to act like a hardass because it is ‘none of his business’ is not a great way to interact. It woukd be taken as that you have something to hide, which will increase likelihood of being considered ‘suspicious’ for a violation which will lead to a legal search.

I usually have multiple weapons in a vehicle and would disclose to any LEO if asked for ID or by direct question.

Many interactions with LEO’s would have a different outcome if people were honest and forthright with them.

Full disclosure I am very pro LEO, first responder, and healthcare worker as well as being very pro gun/knife/dog😀

I hate commercialization of anything, but being prepared is smart. Living anywhere that may have earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires, floods, unrest, etc it is a good thing to have supplies to get you through a couple of days. The average home owner where I live has a generator/food/water/fuel/heating supplies to last a week in case. The 7.2 quake we had in winter a few years ago left many folks without power/heat, etc. I grew up where it was warm but people kept supplies because of storms/outages. You don’t have to go nuts on prepping to be prepared.

Back from the Christmas party... all the bartenders kept saying was "we're out"

Found our HR lady told her "this is whack"
