It's my favorite time of year to be here.

Has diesel fuel gotten foamier?

It keeps tripping the nozzle

It was so bad I thought there was something wrong with the tank and I pulled the tank replaced the hose and check valve and pick up tube and everything. The tank is working fine

And it's doing it on both tanks

But it just took me 10 minutes to fill up my truck in slow motion because the fuel foam's up so much it won't go down.

It is way too cold for this shit.

What am I doing wrong?

I think it is foamier than it used to be. I have always been able to get a few gallons in the tank after it auto shuts off, waiting a bit for the foam to dissipate and then slowly topping off. 3 gallons almost on the nose actually. For the last 6 months to a year, I have been filling at the same stations, buying the same 50 cetane, but can get 5 to 6 gallons in after it first cuts off. Since nothing has changed with my truck or technique, it kinda has to be the pump or the fuel.

I was just saying this to someone. I was using red dyed diesel though and wondered if that had something to do with it. But I guess not. My track loader has a filter in the neck and it is near impossible to fill with my transfer tank that has a 20gpm pump.

Pretty rare, but I've had the constant tripping happen when getting gasoline...always figured it was the pump.

Same, some vehicles seem more sensitive and some pumps seem more sensitive and when you combine the two it’s a huge pain in the ass. I think it has to do with the angle of the fuel filler neck and the pump setup.
