How is everyone doing tonight!

NC knife laws? Blues Blues or others in the know? Open carry of a Buck 110 in a hospital?

I had the unfortunate opportunity to spend most of the weekend at the Mission Hospital in Asheville. When I got there mid-day on Friday I had a Buck 110 in a belt sheath - was there any legal issue? I quickly took it off and put it in my bag, mostly not to add any possible drama to the visit, but I was curious if there were any restrictions in NC?

BTW, it was for my father (78) who passed out and collapsed Friday morning, bouncing his head off the floor on the way down. He‘s in pretty good condition, and hopefully will step down from the ICU to a normal room tomorrow. And also BTW the snow was pretty on the mountains, but too cold. I was happy to make it back to warmer weather in Atlanta this afternoon….

I hope your dad is feeling better soon. I’m certainly no lawyer or affiliated with the law in most any way but I do think private health care facilities are one of the places you are not supposed to carry, kind of like schools or government buildings. That being said in most cases may not be a big deal. But, putting it away is probably your best option. Knife laws seem to really leave a lot of grey area. For instance don’t conceal it but it’s okay to carry in a purse or similar bag.

I worked on the federal side, so my knowledge of local ordinances is limited. I would expect that if someone noticed it, they'd give you the opportunity to go out to your vehicle and secure it, were it an issue. But I realize that things aren't always reasonable.

Best wishes for your dad.

As far as I know, hospitals can prohibit the carry of knives/weapons but this is not always enforced unless there is a specific situation(dont open carry). Are there any signs which say so? Metal detectors or shot spotters? If not, then the laws of the state apply. Most EMTs and some ER docs and ER nurses will either have a mutlitool, pocket knife or a pair of trauma shears.

This is why I don't bet on sports . . .

I was only 1 of 4 in my NFL playoff picks. Fortunately, I got the only 1 that really mattered to me "right" but just barely.

So the NFC/AFC championship games for next week are set, it's the Lions v. Niners and the Chiefs v. Ravens.

The Lions are likely to give the Niners the same problems the Packers did this week, both in the air and on the ground. However, the weather prediction is for NO RAIN next week, which should improve the Niners performance.

If the Niners beat the Lions, it will set up a Super Bowl (SB) re-match vs the Chiefs, who beat the Niners 31-20 in SB 54 (2019), or vs the Ravens, who beat the Niners 34-31 in SB 47 (2012).

It would be their 8th SB appearance seeking their 6th SB championship which would tie the Steelers & Patriots for the most SB wins.

The Niners already got their a$$es kicked by the Ravens a month ago and I haven't seen any changes since then to suggest they'd be able beat the Ravens in a rematch this year.

So, I hope that the Chiefs can beat the Ravens in to give the Niners a fighting chance to win SB #6. 🙏

Took the new sled out today. It definitely likes to run tips up! What a killer sled, she absolutely rips. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

Got lucky on the way home, I’ve been getting diesel up north lately because it’s $1 cheaper a gallon then down my by house.(a mere 60 miles away)

Well, it was advertised at 4.29, but someone made an oops, and I only paid 3.29 🤣🤣😍😍
