Well said.
Green Bay obviously has a very talented team. They embarrassed the #2 Cowboys and nearly did the same to the #1 Niners.
This is not the 1st time that Purdy & the Niners did not play well in bad weather and my guess was that the game would be a lot closer than the 9.5-10 point spread favoring the Niners over the Packers.
The Niners played very poorly for 3 1/2 quarters but got 2 "explosive" TDs -- one on Purdy's arm under pressure and the other on McC's legs by a run up the middle to stay close . Fortunately, Purdy was able to mount a Montana-like drive to score the go ahead TD with only a min or so left on the clock.
Of course, this won't quiet the Purdy haters; nothing will, maybe not even winning the SB. We'll have to see what the haters say, if/when Purdy & the Niners are actually able to do that.
All I can say about Purdy is that he's able to do things that Jimmy G. & Trey Lance couldn't do and is doing things much like Montana did (who, if you watched him play weekly as I did, was NOT perfect either).
People forget that in the NFC Championship game in 1982 when Dwight Clark made the "Catch" -- Montana had 3 INTS before that.
Anyway, the Niners also have a questionable rookie kicker -- Moody from Michigan -- who is curiously inconsistent. Pre-season he was missing everything but he was pretty reliable this season until the last game w/the Rams that didn't count when he missed a PA & 40 yd FG which resulted in the 21-20 loss.
Not sure he can be blamed for his 1st FG miss in the Packer game on him which was blocked, unless there's a reason to believe he should have kicked the ball quicker, but he did kick the 52 yd FG which was became the deciding margin in the game.
Detroit is a better team than the Packers and will give the Niners the same problems, even more so, than the Packers did.
Fortunately (for the Niners), there is NO RAIN predicted for this coming Sunday, which should help Purdy hang onto the ball & keep Niner defenders from falling down like they did in the Packers game.
