Random Thought Thread

Do pre-orders prevent you from buying more knives in the interim?

Not me . . . 🤷‍♂️

I just placed a $5 pre-order for the remake of the Cold Steel Arc Angel balisong w/o any idea when it will be released but I'm hoping to get one of the Knife Joy Spyderco Slysz Bowie Exclusives to be re-released on 2/29.

Then there's still to be released the Spyderco Military 2 CF/S90V Sprint that I'd like to buy too.

I know, I have a problem . . .

LOL! ;)
They aren’t the only thing that prevents me from buying more. lol. But it helps me from caving.

I just told my fiancee I gave up buying knives that I hadn't preordered for Lent, and I'm posting that here as well to rule out buying the Slysz bowie re-release and/or another ninja sword.

In fairness, the same number of knives that I would have bought are still going to arrive during Lent, because I have up to five CPKs I am expecting in that period of time.
My wife wants me to give up drinking for Lent. I said I wouldn't drink any more during Lent. I'm waiting to see how long it takes her to catch on.

I popped into our local market this afternoon. Things were quiet (I live in a small town). As I went up to the checkout counter, the woman behind the counter put down a book that she was reading and I noticed it was the original "Travels of Marco Polo." We ended up chatting about it for a few minutes.

1) I thought it was really cool that someone working at a tiny rural market was reading such a historically significant book, and 2) it felt like an all too rare kind of interaction these days. I love living in a small town.

And that's my Random Thought for the day. 😉

Did you ever consider that she may be a Soviet spy who knows your weakness for literate commoners and now she is using her brief interaction with you to further their race toward global dominance?

First Idaho...then Wyoming...and then what? Guam? Thanks, pal.

Please. I'm a professional. I gathered several personal details (incl. her country of origin - not the U.S, duly noted) in our brief convo, which I plan to reference in our next encounter, to continue building rapport. She'll be working for us in no time. But if Guam becomes the bargaining chip for her cooperation, that's not a hill I'm going to die on. 😉
