I popped into our local market this afternoon. Things were quiet (I live in a small town). As I went up to the checkout counter, the woman behind the counter put down a book that she was reading and I noticed it was the original "Travels of Marco Polo." We ended up chatting about it for a few minutes.
1) I thought it was really cool that someone working at a tiny rural market was reading such a historically significant book, and 2) it felt like an all too rare kind of interaction these days. I love living in a small town.
And that's my Random Thought for the day.
