Random Thought Thread

I just dump photos there, keep it all hidden, ignore everything, grab the BBCode and post here. Maybe I'm missing something?
I haven’t been able to post pictures using it anymore, I keep getting “image not found” from my links. After failing again to generate a working link and then browsing posts and comments, I have decided I really hate Imgur

Ok, I agree with that. I had that happen lots and still don't fully understand how I fixed it. That was super annoying.

I think the biggest challenge with Imgur is that it is far more difficult to use on a phone than it is on a PC. I usually upload pictures to the Imgur app on my phone and then post from my PC. From my PC, it's simply pasting the BBCode into the text box here and hitting Post. From the mobile app, you have to long press your pic, copy link, then go to Insert Image here in the forums and then paste your link. It works about 50% of the time for me, the other 50% I have to repeat the process.

It's just easier to post from my PC so that's what I do.

Yeah, trades are just going to become more and more in demand

I think it's because we told an entire generation or two that trades are for plebes and that they should instead pursue tech and arts. Now we have a bloated workforce in tech and those who actually make it in arts are few and far between.

Tech is good (it's what I work in) and arts are awesome and important. However, we still need skilled workers in the trades and we did so many young people dirty by actively discouraging them from pursuing lucrative careers that involve literal hands-on work.

I often use the free version of imgbb. I keep the use of the site private, but grab the "direct" link and then post up the image here.
Not as easy as uploading from my device via bladeforums software, but it works, especially if the image is larger than a couple of megs.

I upload and post using the website from my phone. Only seems to work in desktop mode though. Never had an issue uploading or copying/pasting doing it this way.

Then maybe you should've edited your post or not bothered to reply at all when I said we'll agree to disagree. 🤣
Well, in my defense, I was drinkin' a bit (if you couldn't tell), and that means you get an unfiltered version of me. 🤷‍♂️ Sorry man.

Someone's gotta have a vintage SuperTuner III laying around...
I literally pulled a ~'96 vintage one out of my old '98 Honda (wife wrecked) back in January. 🤣

Does it seem like a lot of employers are doing layoffs right now?
Certainly in the tech sector, not sure about elsewhere. But some of those companies may have been bigger than they should have been to begin with. Trades still seem strong.
Aerospace is dumping a bunch of people here for sure. Not helping me get back in... 😖

I agree. I think "college degree" got crammed down everyone's throats instead of "marketable skill". I also tend to believe that people are thin skinned pansies so they can't handle hard work or hard words. Most of these snowflakes would gravitate away from trades anyway, just because their parents raised them to be entitled narcissistic pussies.

There was a blurb on the local news tonight about how Gen z and millennials are stressed about doing their taxes, and that many say they will need therapy to recover. WTF??? We are so screwed...

100%.

I'm an aerospace engineer. Currently falling back on IT work. But I could fall back on working in construction, plumbing, auto mechanic or almost anything industrial if I really had to. I can work if I want to. Many these days could not do that!

Same here. Except plumbing. F that - I'll pay someone. No issues working with voltage all day every day but dealing with plumbing is a good way to get me to willingly break things I shouldn't be breaking. And cussing, lots of cussing.

I mean, I wouldn't necessarily like doing some of that stuff, but I could. And I'd much rather install new plumbing than deal with disgusting drains after the fact. :poop: lol 🤮

I'm also stressed about doing taxes, but unlike the Gen Z kids, I didn't vote for the reasons I'm stressed about them.

Also unlike most of them, I have an Emotional Support Sword, which was expensive, but, you know, the break-even point is about 15 therapy sessions locally, so I'm probably ahead.

I tried to get everyone hip to the emotional support sword

I'm glad you understand where I'm coming from

HAHAHAHA
