thank you everyone for applying, but the position has been filled. This officially wins the internet today. 😆 🤣 😂

We switched to formula after a month or so and never looked back. It kills your knife budget but buys you predictability and peace of mind.

We will definitely be implementing formula at some point, just not this early. My wife's milk hasn't come in yet, but is starting to. Right now she's in the phase of just producing colostrum.

Studies have shown that a large percentage of people benefit a significant and measurable IQ advantage if they are breastfed rather than formula.

What you need is a milk nurse.

Lol?

I wish! Lol

In all seriousness, there have been lots of studies showing that babies receive antibodies through breast milk. I could be mistaken, but if I'm remembering correctly, it's believed that long ago when all the women in the village would breastfeed the babies, it increased their health and ability to fight off illnesses. Supposedly this was a contributing factor to how people survived outbreaks of illnesses, Etc.
They do make pumps .... but maybe you don't want to tell her :)

We got a pump. Just haven't had enough time to build up a supply of milk. We've only been home since Sunday evening. I think my wife is planning on starting to pump today.

It is entirely possible for an exhausted mom to sleep while nursing an infant. It isn't easy being a new mom, but humans did evolve for this and she can do it.
Agreed. I'm trying to gently bring up that topic. Mom is sleep deprived and currently in the stage of recording everything because the doctors say so. I have mixed feelings on that. I'm trying to sensitively approach the subject of breastfeeding while sleeping.

I really do appreciate all the feedback and input. We are first time parents. Although I have taken care of many many babies, changed a thousand diapers, made tons of bottles, dealt with screaming colicky infants, and I'm very comfortable around newborns, we are first time parents, so it's a different experience. We're just figuring things out and what works for our little girl; taking it one step at a time.

You'll figure it out. Do whatever is best for y'all and keeps the baby fed. Your wife has been through a lot and probably still is, so keep an eye out for post partum anxiety/depression, it manifests in all sorts of ways. Thankfully there's lots of resources available nowadays.

For y’all having any issues with breastfeeding babies- La Leche League has great info and recources. Folks like to joke about it, but for some moms it can be difficult and having someone there can be a huge help.
Congrats to the new parents and best wishes.
my wife had issues right away but once they got on the same page it was like the gates opened and the horses sped out of the gate.

Nice! It can really be emotional for moms not being able to feed them right away and they can feel overwhelmed by the pressure of feeling they aren’t providing. Usually the hospitals or midwifery centers have great breastfeeding lactation) experts to offer support. I had one patient having issues and I realized right away it was simply positioning the baby correctly.

No warning - deleting posts by new members who may not know every little rule on here - Serious Dick Move. It takes a long time to upload photos and post things. You know we pay to be on here - a minimal amount of courtesy is expected.

Blues Blues - just wiped out 5 posts that I made in one kick. A warning and I could have turned them into one.

If I get kicked - you'll know why.

Just another green beret trying to do good things getting f-d with by another fanny pack wearing surplus store hero that graduated to internet mod - because they can.

With that shit post you should get booted! If you had an issue with him you could/should have sent him a message. Patting yourself on the back and berating a former Fed LEO is not something any green beret I have met would do.

you're fucking retarded.

In my experience the mods here are pretty fair.

For the record, a member reported his multiple sales threads. The multiple posts were all merged into one thread...and he was notified that they were merged and told that the rule is one thread per Exchange category daily. (Nothing was deleted...nor even moved from the Exchange.)

Guess he forgot to bother looking to see that they were all still intact...just in one thread instead of several.

But yeah...it's my fault. Fuck it.

ETA: Link to all of the sale posts which were consolidated into one thread and still remain on the Exchange -
