Well, I ran into a snag. The stag mount is too tall for where I had originally wanted to put it.

I'm testing out a couple other walls to try and hang it, but I'm not sure if it will look very good there.

I've come up with 2 possible contingencies. I could build a cross plate in the corner of two walls and mount it to that or I can get an old whiskey barrel (cut in half vertically) and create a pedestal mount that would let me keep it in my basement in the corner.

Hopefully it will work! 8 foot ceilings aren't ideal for hanging shoulder mounts.

Whiskey barrel sounds good as long as your dogs can’t/won’t get to it (can’t remember if you have dogs). But that sounds cool.
