Is that a Solo fire pit? I've heard they are awesome (and smokeless)!
I bought one last year from Costco when they were on sale, worth every penny.
Our experience has been that the standard iron pits usually rust and rot away in 3-4 years here in Michigan. Those run $100-$150.
I assume that the stainless steel solo stove should last at least twice as long so it really shouldn’t be any more expensive than replacing an iron one every few years.
If the fire reaches the holes around the upper inner edge of the pit it’ll burn the smoke. It is extremely effective and It’s nice to sit by the fire for hours and not end up smelling like smoke. I also like that we don’t have to constantly switch where we are sitting to avoid getting smoked out. Everyone is comfortable around the fire and the smoke is never in your face. It’s a nice set up.
The bonfire set is on sale again right now.

Been eyeballing these for awhile (smokeless fire pits). Definitely on my radar. Just not sure if I should buy one or build one (probably with diminished results).... Appreciate the info, everyone! šŸ‘šŸ‘
I was going to build one too. I watched a few vids and it didn’t seem difficult. That said, I’m glad that I bought this. I can move it around the yard and patio without being stuck in one place. The thing came with a carry case. I thought that was optimistic on their part but we’ve already taken it on a few trips.

I picked up an Inno Stage fire pit for camping. My first experience with pellets. It works well with small wood chunks too. More or less smoke free. It burns fast & furious for 15 - 18 min. on pellets. I like wood better. I’ll carry smaller pieces for evening. (no bugs, it’s all from the same forest)
Full size firewood for 4-5 days takes up 1/8 -1/4 of our 6’5ā€ bed. We have a tonneau, so space is valuable.
$10 av., for enough campground firewood for one fire doesn’t impress me.

Back to the vehicle rant I was having…
On the car forum this AM…a member had a close in counter of the 1st kind with a deer, which removed his pass. mirror. As it turns out, the outside temp. sensor is housed in that mirror. It disabled his AWD. Really?
I’m convinced, advances (?), are causing problems that outweigh the advance.

I have this older wide leather watch band that has duct tape adhesive all over the portion that contacts your wrist (the nap).

Any ideas how to remove it without damaging the leather? I've read a few different ideas, but thought I'd throw it out here.
