got back from Dave Lisch's custom knife show near Yelm, WA a few hours ago. Been a long time since I went on a solo road trip and it was great. The show was amazing, a large number of the knives there were unbelievable, but the best part was the people. The vibe was super strong- everyone seemed really grateful to be spending quality time together.
There were a few unoccupied tables due some last minute cancellations, and I was encouraged to put my knives on one of them like a real knife maker!
I didn't even know about the show until a couple weeks ago, and decided at the last minute to bring the knives I've made that are on hand so I could get some critique. Never thought I'd have them out on a table in front of the public! So, I didn't have any cards, pricing or anything, so nothing sold at the show, but a lot of people stopped by and handled my work and the feeling was glorious!
I'm all fired up now for this winter, and really getting my nose back pressed against the grind stone. Some of you guys are patiently waiting for knives, so that'll be the first priority, but man do I have some ideas and inspiration for a lot of new shit!
