They’re bastards of things really, they kill dogs pretty readily and generally put a few people in hospital each year.

On land they rear back on their tails and kick with their legs. Claws are like little knives.

In water they’re worse. I had it happen once when I was a kid, took the dog for a walk out the back of the farm and a mob of Roos jumped up out of a creek line. Dog bailed it up in the creek.
A big boomer/buck will grab a dog and use its chest to push it under the water and drown it. That happened, I had no gun and a little pocket knife so I found a lump of wood. Saved the dog at any rate.
