So sad to hear thatThat was Eda Rhyne Fernet.
Absolutely marvelous stuff. I had one just a moment ago, getting ready for bed tonight.
Fernet is the "bar keepers handshake". It's also good to help settle your tummy after a large or acidic meal.
But the Eda Rhyne Appalachian Fernet is really quite special. It is a complex and botanical strong digestif that is delicious in exactly the same way as chocolate, without tasting like chocolate.
Unfortunately, their distillery was destroyed during the hurricane. So if you can find some at your local ABC, grab it. Because there's not going to be more for a while. They say they're going to rebuild, but who knows when (or even if) it, will be available again.

I gave someone some once and they said it tasted like bandaids.I really like Ardbeg, i don't mind laphroaig but to me Lagavulin is a bit fishy. I mean that literally too, I get this weird fishy note from it.
Currently on a bottle of Hellyers Road Peated single malt from Tasmania. It's not too bad either.
Who the hell knows what bandaids taste like!I gave someone some once and they said it tasted like bandaids.![]()

My buddy's dad was a Hartford cop in the 70's and 80's. Based on all of the stories that he told us, I think they did a lot of things that weren't "by the book".Is it not a legal requirement for P.D. to announce themselves as police right away?
I hope the "source" got what was coming to him.
The business side of Hartford has a lot of great restaurants. The bad sides do too, but I don't recommend going there if you're not packing. I'm race neutral, so I just go to the bad areas during the day.I lived in Hartford for one year in the 1990’s. I hope to never see that town again.
Found a peaty one on sale recently at a price I couldn't resist.

I don't think I've ever had Lagavulin. Just Ardbeg and Laphroaig on the peaty side.

Has anyone brought a folder or fixed blade on a Mexican cruise in recent years ?
I was under the impression that all safety is an illusionIt helps maintain the illusion of safety
So, Mike might be in the market for one of those carbon fiber, non-metallic knives? You have to go through security like an airport each time you board. So even on shore excursions they check you again. I almost bought a knife in a shop on a shore excursion and they offered to ship it, knowing I was one of the cruise-ship herd.
