Random Thought Thread

Do you know as to what is essentially the most crucial singular drive in mankind? What has propelled us from the time when our species came to being to experiment with our own unique flavor on creativity? As to why in your post a supposed wolf ended up looking like a monkey in form of a domesticated pet "dog"?

The answer is our species' desire for the ultimate goal: IMMORTALITY! We experiment with Nature not because we are coded to better it contrary to our common beliefs, but we do things to figure out as to how to break the code of death. If we can not achieve immortality in this life, we make up some fantastical stories about it in the after life.

XtianAus, this one was just for you. I now promise to be good and not p*ss again on this New Year parade which we've been having :p

"Do you know as to what is essentially the most crucial singular drive in mankind?"

The correct answer to this question derives not from an ultimate goal of immortality, but instead from the very first and most basic, instinctual brain process - FEAR. Long before man was scentient, he feared the unknown, and thoughts of mortality eventually derived from FEAR.

Thank you for your focused attention to the above.

And understand that whatever gets posted today, well, I have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO, so I might as well play the the antagonist (in this thread only) and hopefully piss off only a few of you:D:D:D

Yet, has it occurred to me that antagonistically approaching answers to a Random Thought thread would be counterproductive and so I shall fade to black, exit stage left.

(Lorien, don't bogart it, pass it, damn it!)

Seems unlikely that fear could have arisen without its polar opposite - love. Why would there be “fear” of death, or quest for immortality, if there was not first a “love” of life?

I had faded to black, but must re-emerge to correct any misconceptions, without any antagonistic approach, but one more thoughtful in nature:

Unless the great majority of anthropologists are wrong, love was not one of early man's processes, as was fear. "All you need is Love" may be nice philosophically, but it weren't so "in the beginning". But if you share the view that Adam and Eve were in love in the Garden of Eden, then God help you:D.

Life and Death, Hot and Cold, Day and Night, Love and Fear.... it would require quite a leap of faith to believe that one of these ever existed without the other....

Sorry, but I refer to science, neuropsych research and anthropology as my counter to responses based upon one's philosophy/opinion. Duality? I think not, but suggest that science approaches the subject much more objectively than those who consider duality an argument. Philosophy, no matter how basic, nah.
