I just remembered...I got a pretty good shock from a radio kit, (Graymark or Heathkit), back in the day. I think I discharged a capacitor in an improper fashion.

My friend in high school got a shortwave radio from the town dump and we discovered if you held a metal ruler near the antenna it greatly improved reception…but if you touched it you got shocked.

Different friend and I discovered if you dropped pennies into a light bulb socket just right it would vaporize a tiny bit of copper and shoot the penny out.

I had practical education on a fact I already knew, twice. The fact being, there is a lot of capacitance inside the case of a CRT (whether monitor or television). Nosir, didn't like it.

Oh, that reminded me. Tried fixing the GF’s camera in college. The capacitor for the flash packs a fair wallop. Left a small white spot of dead flesh, too.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, nothing comes to mind. I drop things and my elbows hurt from the inside some days and I’m blaming that afternoon down by the creek messing with the neighbors old ass yellow lawn tractor. Being 10 years old was a great age lol

Maybe I got lucky but nothing happened to me. I was also like 10 years old so I got no idea. Maybe I got lucky, or maybe my dad unplugged it and I didn’t know.
