On a somewhat random note:
Why’d someone come up with a term that’s easily misheard, that means the opposite?
Balmy weather, vs barmy weather. 😝

English really is such a weird language.

Inflexible = not flexible
Inadequate = not adequate
Inefficient = not efficient

Yet

Inflammable = flammable
Invaluable = so valuable, you can’t measure the value

Most other languages have protocols and conventions. With English, there are usually protocols and conventions, except when they’re simply discarded/changed. No wonder non-native speakers have difficulty with it.

If we don't head up to the hills, I may try to hit my local lake this weekend instead. I hear the South end has 4-5" now with this cold snap we've been having, should be even more by the weekend.

Yeah, not so much lol. They have "float suits" these days. Basically similar to snowmobiling bibs and coat, but geared towards fishing, and they have layers of thin foam which are sufficient to float a man without assistance. If you do fall in and die, it'll be slower... 🥶

I’ve fishing enthusiasts are a different breed/mindset.

One year, it had been so warm, that there was NO snow or ice (even in the shade) where I am, but we wanted to go skiing, so we called a few places further north, to see if they had snow.

One of the places a couple hours north, said they had a decent base of about 8”, because they had snowmakers, to make their own snow, even if there hadn’t been any snowfall, so we decided to give it a shot.

Temps where we were, had been above freezing (hence no ice or snow at all). We drove about 2 hours north, and then as we head West towards the ski resort, we cross over a bridge, and see Silverado, out in the middle of the ice 😮.

No ice at all 2 hours south, and here’s this guy with his full-size pickup out on the ice.

My only personal purchase in Mexico was a ring that appeals to my sense of violent flamboyance and inner peace. I know I’m weird….can’t go changing now. If you keep the demons close, they’ll stay at bay. Might be time to get a new Harley. 🤣🤣🤣
