Why’d someone come up with a term that’s easily misheard, that means the opposite?
Balmy weather, vs barmy weather.

English really is such a weird language.
Inflexible = not flexible
Inadequate = not adequate
Inefficient = not efficient
Yet
Inflammable = flammable
Invaluable = so valuable, you can’t measure the value
Most other languages have protocols and conventions. With English, there are usually protocols and conventions, except when they’re simply discarded/changed. No wonder non-native speakers have difficulty with it.
