Random Thought Thread

Slow day at the shop today , so I took some pictures of my process in the paint booth

All panels sanded, ready for plastic (the EDC 1.2 is a joy to use for this)

Next step after finding a color variation that matches is to spray the replacement door and adjacent blend panels with the recommended sealer shade (in this case it is black)

Next is what is called wet bed on the blend panels (this prevents the edges of sealer showing through the base coat or standing the metallic up)

Once sprayed I use the flash function on my booth ... air blowers near the top of the booth blow warm air on the panels and the booth also warms up to 110

The first coat covered well , (you can still see a little bit of the sealer through it) so 1 more coat of base

Next step is called a control coat... here I'm making sure my metallic is even and my color blends transition out smoothly
