I've soured on him completely. I assumed that a "tech bro" who's into space travel would support basic science (math, physics and chemistry) research. Crypto and data have roots in number theory. We are leaders in every field and the return on investment is huge. (We only invest about 1 billion in those 3 areas combined) This makes what is happening completely baffling. We are knocking down the entire system of how research is done, right down to the students, and handing a huge W to our competitors.

Heck, I was hunting waterfowl when lead was still legal.

I went from 10g for geese, to 12 & 16 for pheasants & ducks, 20g for a challenge on quail, ducks and Turkey, and finally a 410, cause it just wasn’t a challenge anymore, and loved it!, except not legal for Turkey.

After trap, night skeet, sporting clays, and multiple 10,000 rounds, it no longer became a challenge, and the fun was lost, more enjoyable calling & decoying them in than actually hunting them.

Got to the point I would only hunt certain species from certain areas, just due to the quality of meat. Canvasbacks & Woodys.

Camera became better and more fun.

Strange transition, but no regrets.

Maybe I came full circle?
 
Today is a glorious day ! On January 27th, I mailed my CPK Comp Chopper (race knife) to the Compound for a tune-up. It arrived in nearby Charlotte, 3 days later. USPS Tracking then disappeared for a couple weeks. Jo and Bennie were on the lookout but the knife didn’t arrive.🤔

Then, to my utter astonishment, it popped up in Washington, DC. That tour of Limbo lasted even longer. 🤬 This morning, I received a tracking update that it is “out for delivery” in Mooresville. Happy days, happy days !

EDIT : I guess 41 day shipping is better than the alternative….lost, stolen, or damaged. 🤷🏻 I filed an insurance claim 1 1/2 weeks ago and didn’t even get a response. Not cool.

Well Traveled Choppa!

Legend has it that choppers that take a long time to be delivered are faster on race day!

*disclaimer* I know absolutely nothing about choppers and/or cutting competitions!😆

UPS is the only way. May cost a bit more, but the service you receive overrides anything you can and will run into from USPS or FedX, including claims and tracking.

I’m not just being partial, but years of actual experience and actual service.

Just as a PSA, if anyone plans to ship items ~ 1K or over in value for the next couple of or few weeks, it'd perhaps be best to go with FedEx / UPS instead at the expense of the higher rates but comfort of mind. I have experienced some unusual longer delays, some caused by the weather by others just packages ending up in some holding facilities for days on end! Some like yours, ending up in hubs which make no logistical sense to the casual observer! The USPS efficiency had been improving in years past but it was still tenuous, I am really dreading the specter of Nathan's new friend getting his minions' hands all over that service!

Can't get worse can it? They are billions of dollars in debt and management seems clueless. It's not caused by the boots on the ground. It seems they are now prioritizing smaller sized mail over larger sized mail, which explains the delays on some packages.

Holding at the correct hub, due to delivery delays, is one thing.

Misloading to a different destination is entirely inexcusable.

Carriers are way overworked, then add in subs, and it’s a disaster
