I've never noticed my truck do an active region like that.

I run archoil ar6500 to protect the CP4 fuel pump from the crummy (low lubricity) ultralow sulfur American fuel and one of the claimed features of the additive is cleaner burn, reduced soot and less DPF regen. I pull a trailer pretty frequently and that always burns it off passively down to zero but it's so thoroughly burned off then I can do a little bit of short distance driving and idling and short trips for a few days before it starts to tick back up to 5% or 10% on the DPF meter. And then as soon as I work the truck hard it goes back down to zero again.

I've found that, ever since I finished the break in and I drive it pretty hard, it never needs to active regen. At least as far as I've noticed and I keep a pretty close eye on it.

That’s because you use it like a truck!

I wish I was smart enough to understand any of this.

let alone basic math

At least it’ll sound good when that L87 sends the rods to god when the out of spec Hecho en Mexico crankshaft gives up the ghost.
Just teasing.. hopefully you bought one of the good ones.
I had a Borla cat-back system on my old 2005 4.8 Silverado and it sounded great. Not obnoxious like Flowmaster or Black Widow stuff.

I was at an interview for DEA back in the early 80's and they asked me if I had ever smoked.
I asked if they had interviewed anyone else from NYC. They said they had.
I asked what they said.
They said they told them that they hadn't.
I asked if they believed them.
When they said they did, I told them that maybe they weren't the outfit for me.

They asked me when I had last smoked...and since I planned on walking out anyway, I said "ten minutes before the interview".

True story. (Not the ten minutes part...)*
