I spent the last few weeks searching for the best roadside internet connection along my work route. Tested the connection 5 minutes before 1500 E.S.T. 60Mb/s d/l, 20Mb/s u/l.

Google and Amazon loaded almost instantaneously. Tried to get on BF 2 minutes before 1500 and it took ~15 seconds for BF to load. Looked for the locked CPK sale thread. Couldn't find it. Looked in other sections in case I was mistaken. Each time, it took 10-20 seconds to load.

Figured Nate was going to only post the sale thread AT 1500. Tried to load the page at 1459:58. Took 20+ seconds to load, but showed 0 replies. Tried to post and it took ~30+ seconds to actually load the post. By that time, I was ~50th. Lol.

I was testing refresh around 2:59:00 Eastern and noticed that the refresh lag cycle was getting longer and the gap grew larger as the seconds went by, so I knew at my location out on the West Coast, things may not bode well for me and my server if I did not luck out to catch the darn thing on an opportune moment. The writing was all over the wall.

Congrats to all the winners and major kudos to Momma Jo / Nathan & Crew. Great rewards and spoils come to those who are honest, work hard with diligence and the utmost integrity. Plus your knives ain't too shabby either, because of the alloy particle metallurgy nerd who resides at the CPK-Compound with all his nerdy R&D ;)

And I responded to it. Such practices of steering toward flipping right off the bat are to be swiftly and strongly discouraged.

Look, it's frustrating to be on the outside looking in, but I rather not get in by cheating at the expense of CPK's hard work. Once you (generally) get your knife in hand, you can do what the heck you'd like to do with it but spot selling is just so YIKES!
 
In my humble opinion, it'll be fair if Nathan could kindly instruct and request that those who have already scored one or once wait their turn again until a few of these 40 x offerings serve the others who did not score. This will also eliminate the horrendous upload and lag times which we witnessed and experienced today.

At the end of the day and in a few months to 6 month's time, everyone will have a chance to own a couple of these so let's not bicker over something frivolous and be respectful toward everyone's turn. Sayz me!

Cata, I believe in giving second chances... I understand the complete frustration that sets in after waiting for something for such a long time and I also understand that egregious behavior by some can end up reflecting badly for CPK and their current business model. I believe that Nathan & Co are doing all that they could and beyond, heck they even recently added one more manpower and a new Mori so having the ability to offer 40 of these UFKs in back-to-back weeks, isn't something which they could've done last year.

It is really upon us, the forumites to be respectful of each other's wants and wishes. If you (not You, but you ;) ) already have one coming, then wait your turn a bit longer. If you got skunked today, don't offer extra $ to some potential scalper, just try to do better the next time and maybe you end up getting lucky too.

I get where you are coming from, hell, I was looking over your shoulder on this one. That said, I have to go with the other approach. I say to all ahead of me, bring it on next week, fuckers, I wanna bump somebody who bumped me this week.
